Mr T Mr S Mr R H Church Div 1 • Poole `° 2 • Bauer °° 4 A, Ferguson 9° 5 C Schmelke 6 G Campbell It 7 PaGe 1 (Deputy Reeve) Mr J IC Jeffery, Asst Sec - Treasurer was present and recorded the Minutes of this meeting Mr D C Dau of the Three Hills School Division and Mr, Gordon King, Sec - Treasurer, along with Mr Floyd Weis and Mr. ScluiiI# who are ratepayers of this M D sat in on portions of the meeting P?r T A Ferguson moved approval of the Combined Meeting Minutes of October 23/72 as per copy which had been rfailedito each Councillor Carried Mr Da#i Peters, District Agriculturalist, entered the meetingIand gave a brief report on upcoming events from his Department On January 8 to February 2 there is a Farm Management Course with Jack Gorr instructing He stated that the D H E. is hiring an instructor for sewing clinics which is paid for by the Government Further Adult Education C urses are being provided in Interior Design, Art, Typing and Business Administration along with a Family Life Education Program in Linden and a short course on Dairy and Poultry Productions He further stated there would be a two-day series in Drumheller on Tax Reform followed up with Income Tax forums There will be a Hog series in Carbon and a Mechanic series in Trochu along with a Bee Course in Three Hills, The Beef Course in Three Hills will be starting on December 1st Mr Dan Peters left the meeting at this time - 9.35 a m The Monthly Financial Statement for the month ending October 31/12 was presented and discussed as per copy with these Minutes, This showed a net balance at the end of the month of ($62, 690 71) cr o Loans oaring at the end of the month were $90,000 00 Mr A W. Bauer moved that this reporl be accepted Carried A letter was read from R Angus Limited inviting Council to the Cabaret night during the Convention on Tuesday at 7 30 Mr S C Schmelke moved this letter be filed Carried The Secretary read a letter from the Province of Alberta; Department of Municipal Affairs, Inspectors Branch regarding the Municipal Inspector's Report for this Munic -ipal District The Inspector stated that all operations were satisfactory with the exception that some of the meeting Minutes and By -Laws were unsigned This has since been attended to Mr A H Church moved to accept this report and file it for the Annual Meeting Carried See Page 2 J.C. A circular was referred to from the Alberta Emergency EX 0 Measures Orlani.zation stating they would hold a Co-ordinator's /w School from the 4 to 8th of December, 1972 in Edmonton X, Mr A H Church moved to table this correspondence until the next meeting Carried Discussion took place concerning an Agricultural Fieldman and an Ass t Agricultural Fieldman Mr. To A Ferguson moved we advertise for an Asst Ag Fieldman and, if satisfactory; will take over as Agricultural Fieldman April 1, 1973 Applications should be in by December 8 The advertisement should be circulated r through all M D. and County offices with two ads in both the Edmonton aid Calgary papers and also an ad to run in the Three Hills Capital Carried The Secretary read a letter from Mr R W Brown, Reeve, of the N D of Kneehill stating that the coyote problem is very severe in his particular Division and urgently asking the Council to rescind the cost part of the motion on 10$0 baits Mr T A Ferguson moved to accept and file Mr Broirm°s letter Carried A press release from the Central Alberta Association of M D 's & Counties from their October 19/72 meeting was then discussed briefly Mr. C W Poole moved that we release this to the Three Hills Capital if there is no charge 'If there is a charge we are not to release this for 1,4blication Carried F1 AG FIELDMAN ASST AG FIELDMAN R. ZEMLAK CLAIM A G T CABLE - CUT n LJ 0 • FORM 149—F SPECIAL Q 1 1 ens COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 9, 1972 The Secretary then read a note from Mr G King as follo se Page 5 Mr Fred Penner noticed the M D had hauled some culverts to Ruarkville so he made a special trip to our office to ask that we be certain to contact him before digging so that the gas lines would first be located in the inte`est of safety and service Mr Paquette was later at our o fice and was given the above information He said he expected Oris Rodger there soon and would be sure to make the required. arrangemerts The newt day at 4.40 p m Mr Rodger phored our office to say he had cut a gas line and did mot know where they were and no one had warned him in aty way He coulc not locate the shut -off valve. The office advised him to phone Mr Fred Penner and if not hor�:e to try Mr Roy Davidson J C Jeffery and myself drove to the site and fortunately there was no fire or injury The line was repaired quickly Mr King further states that, in his opinions Council should make drastic regulations to prevent such happenings Following this correspondence the Secretary read a portion of a letter from Mr Brown stating his opinion re the above, Mr T Aj Ferguson moved that the Secretary write Mr Penner a}id ask him if he could mark out all lines on M D property in the Ruarkville area, GAS LINES Mr ;Johnston Hart of the Agricultural Service J. HART Beard eAered the meeting at approximately 2 10 p m ACCIDENT Mr, Hart reported he had an accident on the south Huxley road going west in which he slowed down, signalled to turn to the south and a car behind him, driven by an employee of Flint Engineering smashed into the back of him Mr Hart and Council were then advised that the claim from Flint Engineering in the amount of $600 00 approx had been turned over to our insurance company The Council then thanked Mr Hart and he left Mr D C Dau of the Three Hills School Division D.0 DAU entered at this time 2 10 p m Mr R G Campbell, Councillor for Div 7; reported,/ / R CAMPBELL that he had put on a 30 000 b t u heater at the Huxley RE HUXLEY well Mr A IAT Bauer moved to accept Mr R G Campbell s WELL report Carried.
