He stat d their machine has only worked 300 hrs since July of last year Mr Poole suggested that he consider a difference of $25,000 00. Mr. Hazelton stated he would talk it over with his partner, Mr Arnold Boese and would arrange to meet Council at its meeting here on October 10�h at 1 30 P M Mr Hazelton then left th meeting. Mr. Fer uson moved that the Shop Committee call for bids for a new one -ton truck either 1972 or 1973 and that the 3e be considered by Council at its meeting on October 23rd There will be no trade -in. Howe met the Committee regarding the $50 00 charged to him for parts for the International motor He reported that his employee Henry Maerz claimed that new parts had been put back on. There were no definite records on file showing what had been taken or replaced Mr Howe offered $25 00 as settlement of the account Mr Ferguson moved that this be recorrmended to Council Carried Nor. Howe thanked the Committee and left the meeting It was agreed that a bench grinder be bought at an estimated price of $85 00 to be used in conjunction with the bit sharpener Agreed that a second extension phone be put in the shop and that this be downstairs outside of the partsroom, likely on the east side. Ted spo e about the value of having a one -way snowplow to fit on a truck and he is to check regarding the possibility of getting one from the Department of Highways Ted rep rted that the motor on the old F W D is in poor shapE and a number of other repairs would be required to jut it in good working order Tires are good and it Is a useful machine for towing out motor graders that are stuck or for emer ency snowplowing work Estima louncil e for parts would be 2500.00 to $3,000 00 and it is do btful if the machine is worth this. To be referred to Ted suggested it would be better for the M. D. if Robert Cranston and Keith Weigum switched dates for their welding courses this winter with Bob to take the course from November 14 to December 22 and Keith from February 12 o March 23 Bob Cranston stated this would be agreeable with him and Ted is to contact Keith Weigum and get his opinions. Brief discussion took place in regard to the two travelalls and it appeared agreed that these should be scrapped or sold this winter and perhaps replaced with a one -half ot three - quarter ton truck. Mr FMe uson moved that this meeting adjourn.
