Firemen's Convention which they had attended recently
and it was agreed that their report be included in

Mr Albert Barrie of Three Hills then niet with
Council His letter of June 16/72 was read in regard
to a proposal for a Computer Accounting program and
he supplied each Councillor with a copy of the infor?na-
tion In the discussion which followed, it was pointed
out that the present office staff would have consider-
able extra work getting the system set up during the
following year but there would be reduction in office
work after that time However, added new business

Mr Barrie also stated that h(, would allow $5,000 00
for our Accounting Machine if his proposal- is accepted
Further discussion followed It was agreed that this

Mr T.� A. Ferguson moved the adoption of the Minutes MINUTES

Mr. R W Jrown moved the acceptance of this report Carried. REPORT
Mr G L. Park reported on the Ohlhauser gully project
and stated it needed more work He reported the Department GULLY
of Agriculture would pay 60% of the costs on this type of PROJECTS
project He further reported that the Clarke Estate gully
project ha been filled and that the farmer had done it
himself at his cost. The Division 7 Hutterite project would
involve dr inage on the road allowance ditch Mr. Park also
stated that the Lars Sorenson project did require some fill-
ing and could possibly be a demonstration project Mr T. A.
Ferguson moved acceptance of this )report
Mr G L. Park reported the Provincial Weed Tour will PROVINCIAL

marized as follows
(a) Department of Agriculture stated grants will not be
provided f r roadside backsloping, brush control or mowing.
(b) Department of Agriculture stated the maximum grant for
1972 at th s time is $10,200.
(c) Department of Agriculture dispursing Policy on Animal
Pest Control
(d) Depa ment of Agriculture stating the Noxinus Weed Act
will rema1 in force until December 31/72 at which time the
Weed Cont of Act will be in effect.

REPORT OF AGRICULTURAL FIELDMAN TO COUNCIL
AND A S B MEETING - JUNE 26, 1972
Lor e Boese and I attended one day of the Pesticide
Short co rse held at Olds
Sprayed 2720 cattle on 24 farms for lice and warble control
Plaited approximately 132 miles of trees as follows
Roa side - 2 miles, Field 22 miles, Farmstead 5 miles
Have sprayed farmstead shelter belts on 22 farms
for cant of of various insects on spruce and deeidious trees
Dan Peters and I with the co- operation of the Department
of Agriculture, have set out 12 insect traps on the farm of
Willard Huether adjacent to the No 9 Highway The purpose of
these traps is to determine the time that the Beet Webworm
and Bertha Army Worm moths emerge so that some information will
be available, as to when an outbreak might be expected We had
expected to locate Pupa of both the Beet Wbbworm and Bertha
Army Worm in the Huxley area as there was quite a large number
present last fall on some fields which had not been sprayed.
However, these fields didn't yield any to our inspection
ThE A S B one ton truck has been in the shop for approx
2 weeks due to a cracked manifold and mechanics too busy to
work on it This has made It necessary to use the sprayer truck
for roving the trailer, etc. and held up our spraying somewhat
For the same reason I have used my own personal 2 ton truck
on the ob
Work has been done at Municipal Park areas as time permits
As we were not able to qualify for help under the STEP
Program I hired Rick Kober for the month of June. He is going
back to school for. the summer
