The Council Meeting resumed at 3 30 P.M. and the ROAD TOUR balance of the report of the Road Tour was reviewed in REPORT detail. King advised that Mr. Ron Toews had asked R TOEWS about getting some sand from the hill on the N/S road SAND allowance near Tainsh's farm Mr Schmelke moved that this be approved without charge as the road would be ✓ improved if more of the hill was hauled away Carried. Item #")g - Mr Brown moved that a letter be written ITEM # 59 to the School Division giving it authority to have a v' power pole moved at its expense if it so wishes Carried. Item #60 - Mr G King is to contact the District ITEM # 60 Engineer for design details and for information regarding the soil in that road east of Acme Item #58 - The Bridge Branch is to be contacted to V ITEM # 68 see if they will redeck the Merle Anderson bridge Item #:')9 - Mr Brown moved that a letter be written ITEM # 69 to Glen Johnson advising him that Council considers the ,G JOHNSON work done in 1971 was private work and he should pay the ACCOUNT account of 4.45 Carried. Mr. Jim Wright of Three Hills inquired as to whether BID RE or not the Municipal District would bid for some work AIRPORT required at the new Three Hills Airport Mr Poole moved ✓ that no bid be made for the required work. Carried Mr Paquette stated the Town of Three Hills wishes EQUIP to rent our DW -20 packer for one day's work packing a RENTAL RE south stre t in Three Hills. Mr Ferguson moved that TOWN OF this be authorized at the regular rental rates for the 3 HILLS equipment and man. Carried Mr. Ferguson asked author- ity to gravel approximately of a mile to the Les Lane driveway in SW- 14- 32 -23 -4 Mr. Schmelke asked for author- GRAVEL WORK ity to gravel approximately 1 mile west of 15- 34 -26 -4, L. Mr A H Church, Mr C W Poole Mr T A Ferguson, Mr. R G Campbell, Mr S. C Schmelke. Councillors R W Brown and A W Bauer sat in as observers Mr. Church moved that Mr Poole act as Chairman of the Court of Revision. Carried Mr. George Park, Assessor, and Mr. Roy Kinsey, Assistant Assessor, were present and gave comments and recommendations Mr. G G. King acted as Secretary of the hearing The Alberta Wheat Pool was not represented but its letter of April 12, 1972 was read and each elevator was dealt with individually The recomm ndations of Mr. George Park, as Assessor, were followed as per the following motions 1 Grainger Elevator #1 - Mr Ferguson moved that the present asses ment of $9,640. be confirmed Carried 2. Grain er Elevator #2 - Mr A. H Church moved that the present assessment of $3,970. be increased to $$,820 Carried 3. Graff er Elevator #3 - Mr. T A Ferguson moved that the present asses ment of $2,670. be confirmed. Carried. 4. Mr. Churca moved that the building assessment of $50. be deleted and t at the land assessment of $90 be confirmed Carried Mr '11. W Richardson was not present in regard to Lots 11 -16, Blk. 3, Sw lwell His appeal stated that the building assessment was too high Mr George Park agreed that this was an old shed and some reduction would be in order Mr Schmelke moved that the building assessment be reduced to $400. and the land assessment confirmed at $60 Carried Mrs--,Eleanor Oxland - Regarding a portion of the SE- 28- 29 -26 -4. She was not, present The Court had been advised that Mr Del Mc- Kinnon had an interest and he had been informed of the hearing but was not present either. The notice of appeal from Mrs. Oxland was read. She ppealed against the building assessment as she stated she had sold 20 acres to Mr McKinnon. Mr G G. Mr. Tel Paquette, Public Works Superintendent, was also � T PA= ?UETTE present. Mr. G G. King, Secretary- Treasurer, was present and y.- G. KING recorded thp Minutes. Reeve, R. W. Brown referred to a letter to the Editor which had appeared in the recent issue of The Three Hills Capital in respect to Council's action in regard to rec- reation matters. He read his proposed reply and discussion followed Mr Campbell moved that the Reeve's reply be put in the Three Hills Capital. Carried Mr R. W. Brown and G G. King reported they had been invited to the Town Council Meeting in Three Hills this past Minday evening on short notice The purpose was a town prepesal to possibly annex areas to the north and east of Three Hills including the Prairie Bible Institute, Grant- Ville, Rua kville and perhaps an area out to No 21 highway. "ne item of some concern would be the effect of the loss of 800 pop lotion and the resulting effect under the Mun- icipal Assistance Grant. Mr Brown and G. King advised Council that the meeting had requested that the Municipal District a point two members to an investigating committee regarding the annexation Mr Ferguson moved that R W Brown be ore committee member for this purpose Carried Mr Poole loved that Mr A. W. Bauer be the other Council committee .ember Carried A pur osed agreement with Mr. N R Fuller was read in respect to removal of his fence He had demanded that the Municipal District rebuild the fence, improve the grade for his driveway and gravel same, cancel a snowplow- ing account; and also cancel a penalty which had been added to his taxes Discussion followed and it was particularly noted that this would set a precedent and would not be fair to nt ers who had accepted ordinary terms Mr Ferguson moved that the proposed agreement with Mr. N R Fuller be not accept d by Council and that he be so advised by letter Carried. LETTER TO EDITOR RE RECREATION TOWN COUNCIL RE AN"'EX- ATION RE P B I ETC FENCE AGREEMENT RE N FULLER Mr C urch moved that Council authorize proceeding of 0 PARRY the gradin of the Oliver Parry road without removal of ROAD the N R uller fence due to the impossibility of making a satisfac ory agreement with Mr. Fuller Carried. Carried Mr Brown asked that the following be noted 1.
