It BOARD DECISION was noted hat changes had been made to clarify the L plan by changing the term Hamlet to Townsite in some cases and by other minor changes Mr Brown moved that this C be accepted and filed. Carried Mr. Sc elke moved that Mr John Duda be granted a BUILDING permit to move a dwelling from Lots 22 -24, Blk 5, PERMIT RE Huxley to la location west of Delburne on condition 4, J DUDA that the axes first be paid and that he guarantee to clean 14p the site Carried. The Mi l- of a Regiona Recreation Meeting held at Carbon on November 8th were read and some discussion took plac in regard to them It was noted that appli- cations f r capital grants have been made or soon will be made b all of the Recreation Boards of the area Mr Churc moved adoption of these minutes Carried Mr Br wn advised that he had been at Linden West Pit this orning and Linden Contractors now have approx. 7,500 cu yds. crushed and stockpiled The Road Committee explained that they had made a deal with Linden Contractors for the c ushing at that location with the price to be 75¢ per cu including all rocks up to 7" Mr Brown also stated t t Linden Contractors have a small contract near East Coulee and have asked if Council will grant them the rights tc go there soon and do some of our work later. Mr. Doug Haz lton of Linden Contractors then met with Council He verif'ed that they had between 7300 and 7500 cu yds stockpil d at Linden West and that there is good gravel left on he west side sufficient for at least one more good sit ing Mr Brown stated that the rocks which did Z/ REC. The Co cil ,-. -9 no objection to Linden Contractors taking the job at East Coulee and doing that work prior o coming to our Municipal Pit near Torrington. 2 That L nden Contractors be authorized to crush from 5,000 o 6,000 cu yds at the Ed McNair pit west of Bei eker to be stockpiled at that site and that this b done either dust before or just after the East C ulee job. CONTRACTORS 3 That L nden Contractors move from Linden West location today Motion Carried Mr. Doug Ha elton then left the meeting Discu Sion took place regarding the employment of John JOHN ESAU Esau. Mr. sau then met with Council and discussed his em- ployment e had started work for the Municipal District in 1943 an has worked at various jobs since that time He preferr d a lay -off for the winter as he is unable to work durin the cold weather and he would then be able to draw Unemp oyment Insurance. He wishes to start work again in time to push the snow wide off the roads toward Spring Wage Conti uance Policy requires a doctor's certificate and he was uncertain as to whether or not he might obtain this Mr. sau will be 70 yearns of age on October 17th, 1973 He a so stated that he oLd not wish to take Pension now as he ould lose rights to Life Insurance and Wage Continuant Mr. John Esau theq left the meeting Council discussed his matter further n some detail Mr Poole moved that a letter be sent to Mr Jnhn Esau advising him that C until wishes to give him the best deal possible, but consid rs he is unable to operate a Motor Grader due to health easons, and that Council suggest he have a medical so n, and that he also be advised that Council will consi er the possibility of other work for him by April 1st ext Carried. Lett r of Nov 9th and attached plans, etc from Alberta Gas Trunk Line were read in regard to our Mun- icipal Ca eat in the SW- 9- 30 -24 -4 The said Caveat pro- tects the interest of the Municipal District in the area around th Swalwell Dam Mr Poole moved that Council approve giving a clearance to Alberta Gas Trunk Line for its pipeline as per request and that the Reeve and Sec -Trea urer be authorized to sign the necessary documents Carried. All Councillors present and the Sec - v CONVENTION Treasurer ad been in attendance Resolutions, etc were refer ed to briefly Council meeting adjourned for dinner from 12 00 Noon to 1 0 P M Letter of November 16th from the Department of Municipal ffairs was read in regard to the 1971 Mun- icipal In pector's report This letter explained why reference had been made to the fair financial condition of this M nicipal District at the close of 1970. The Sec -Trea urer pointed out that the information in the letter is correct but that they did not take into account t xes receivable and these were quite high as there was no penalty until March lst Mr Brown moved that this be filed for reference to the Annual Meeting Carried. Mr ed Paquette, Public Works Superintendent, and Mr Joe D bier, Gravel Foreman, met with Council Letter from the Bridge Branch stated that they would make further inspectio-asas requested at the last meeting 41r.
