King gave a brief resume of the original agree- ments with Three Hills & Trochu which are very similar, both have actually expired Agreement with Linden has never been finalize with signatures Wages - present setup explained and discussed at length Mr. Larr3 Davis stated that only 4 rural firemen have been active at Three Hills - this added to the work of the Town firemen, reducing the pay to the rural firemen worked to • the detriment of the Town f -'_remen, he asked that the firemen themsely s be allowed to divide up the total wage allottment of $1500 ($500 to Town and $1,000 Rural now) and stated that the rural men have agreed to this. Also stated that ratio of fires was 7 rural to 3 Town this year. (16 Town firemen) - Three Fills. Tro hu firemen gave each a copy of all funds handled through their local association In total they got $1800 for wages in 1970, raised another $590 in other ways, and spent the money for firemen's benefits, community projects etc. but did not take anything as actual wages In 1971 a similar situation exists They voiced no complaints M D councillors advised ahem that the firemen were not expected to buy necessary t.quipment from their funds Tro hu counci-I stated. they had no actual complaints but wished time to (-ons -d(^ items brought up for discussion and might ask for some fu)ther consideration Will send a reply to G G King • Bru e Ruby for Three Hills said he is new to the job and had o special comments or requests Tro hu and Three Hills each have 5 fire phones but felt the number should be increased to 6, Linden has 5 plus 2 for the ambu ante, ambulance funds pay for the 2 Recommended that M D pay for rental of 3 fire phones in each of the Towns Linden proposed agreement was reviewed and the payments originally made were outlined It appeared that this should be reviewed separately as it is quite different. Linden firemen have not teceived any wages from anyone and have been happy to carry on Mr comment: answer of "wet' u FORM 149-P SPECIAL ICI PLI Don Graham stated that he did not wish to make any on the agreements or "political" items. D - $100. per call 4 Anot er Municipality and subject to prior Agreement - $20C for up to 2 hrs., then $50 hr for additional time All 3 Rural units had responded to calls to Jacob Buchert4 bulk station at Wimborne After discussion it was acre d that he be billed for the 3 units at $100 each Mr G King was asked to write a letter to R. C Ni. P headquarters outlining the local policies and situation and making special reference to the Wimborne fire as it was stated that the R C M P had called some of the equipment Fir men were asked to send regular reports of chargeable trips to G G. King so that billing can be done promptly. Mr Graham stated that he had forms which might be useful Inquiry is to be made about effects on insurance for farm or other trucks which may haul water to a fire, private firemen's cars and, /or trucks, etc Suggested that an advi. be put in the paper asking that curious people keep out of the way with vehicles at the time of fire calls Fillemen gave strong sipport to the idea of a two -way radio s.stem or other alternate means of communication Equipment Three Hills - new water tank, Larry Davis will arrange to get this installed in Calgary, given permission to store M D tuck with water tank in Town fire hall while the fire truck is away for the repairs, other units will act as stand-by Trochu I truck ,hack - they will get a suitable one and send the account to M D Tanks r st - some lubricant is on the market which might help bu it is very costly and thus of doubtful value AMBULANCE Brief d scussion for clarification of rates Agreed 2 hurt 'n 1 accident & transported together - charge 12 times the nor al rate for the trip. 3 hurt k transported together - twice the normal rate. (Charges to be divided evenly) G G King to get information as to Govt policy re paying for ambulance service for pensioners under Social Assistance.
