All C uncillors were again in attendance and Mr D C. Dau If the Three Hills Sclool Division was also present A proposed Resolution asking for more policing in RESOLUTION respect to overloads was read to the meeting and was OVERLOADS discussed at considerable length Mr. Ferguson moved that this be approved for presertation to the Association as is. Carried Corre pondence from the Department of Regional TORRINGTON Economic E pansion was referred to briefly in regard DAM to the proposed dam in the Torrington area in the N2 of 21-32-26-4 Mr. Schmelke moved that this information be accepte and that the Provincial and Federal Govern- ments be a ked to follow up wi -u-h this project Carried Mr Ferguson reported that the water tank on the 3 HILLS Three Hills Rural fire truck is leaking and this is FIRE TRUCK being checked It will be repaired if possible but may have to be replaced. Mr L may moved that meetings in connection with FIRE DEPT. fire depar ment matters be called as follows MEETINGS 1 Oct 28th at Linden at 8 00 P M for representatives � from Pinden, Carstairs, Crossfield and the M D of Knee 'l1 2. Carried Mr Bauer moved that the Minutes of the Meeting 3 HILLS of the Three Hills Recreation Board of June 19th be REC. BOARD accepted and filed Carried Minutes of the Three Hills School Division Meeting SCHOOL DIV of Sept ith and 22nd were referred to briefly. Mr Dau added information stating that no agreement had been reacted in respect to teachers? salaries and related m tters Some discussion followed in this regard. Lemay moved that thip information be filed arried Corr spondence from the Villages of Carbon and AMBULANCE 1PAcme stat d that each agreed to be included in an agreement for Ambulance service Mr Pole moved that thesa be accepted and filed Carried .. FORM 149-P SPECIAL U I I i u ru COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY, OCT 11171 Page 11 A meeting is being arranged for tomorrow evening with representatives of the Towns and Villages in regard to the Ambulance service and costs to be charged, etc Some discussion took place in regard to the costs with reference to keeping the costs reasonably high to discourage unnecessary or out3ide calls. Council appear to agree twat the ambulance must be ready to answer all emeri ency call.: )Tit,hin any reasonable distances. Mr. Poole moved that a copy of a letter from the Drumheller General Hospital asking for a Study of hospital services be filed as this is under con- sideration by a Provincial committee Carried Mr Lemay moved that circt:ilars from the Task Force on Urbanization and The Future be tabled until next Council Meeting. A num er of circulars from the A A M D & Counties were read aInd dealt with as follows 1 Study of Taxation and Municipal Finance The Sec.-Treasurer was authorized to reply in brief stating that the 30 mills education tax should be taken off all propert j or none; that this Counc'1 does not believe the Homeowner Discount shoul be continued and "chat no answer be given in re Dect to increased Dr new forms of taxation. 2. Mr. Poole moved that the circular regarding LANDFILL burning at landfill sites be filed Carried SITES 6 Mr Ferguson moved that this Council recommend CO -OP that the surplus in the Co -op Trading at TRADING be di ributed on an even basis to al,.. unlcipalities.
