W Brown " 3 Mr I W Bauer it 4 Mr A. Ferguson " 5 Mr. . C Schmelke " 6 Mr. A Lemay " 7 (Reeve) (Except as noted) COUNCILLORS Mr. q. G. King, Secretary - Treasurer, was present G. G. LEMAY approxcima'-ely 9 15 A. M. as noted later Mr, erguson moved approval of the minutes of the MINUTES meeting o July 12/71 as per copy which had been mailed APPROVED to each C uncillor. Carried Mr uer moved approval of the building permits BUILDING PERMIT - as issued s per I'-.em 2 of the Pgenda with these minutes Carried. Mr. Doug Ha- lelton of Linden Contractors met with LINDEN CONTR. Council He :fated that they have finished work at the MR HAZELTON Garson pit for the Dept of Highways and are now doing a little extra for an oil company or gas company They are now working in good gravel He also advised that the Dept of Highways may want about 160,000 cu. yds. next year if s,zitable arrangements can be made with the land owner The Municipal lease with Garson's was GARSON'S LEASE checked and it was noted that it expires on Oct. 26/72 Stockpile records indicate that the M. D has 16,000 cubic yards at Garson's and 8,000 cubic yards at Watt's, so no more is needed for general road work at this time. It was agreed that gravel quality for surfacing be discuss.d with Ted Paquette later in the meeting. Mr G Lemay arrived at the meeting at this time. Mr H zelton advised they are finishing the work at Garson'5 today and will then be moving to near Scollard f r one week, then will be back working in this Munic pal District He also said there was a possibilitr of gravel on either the southeast or south- POSSIBLE GRAVE_ west of 1?:-28-24-4. Mr Poole agreed to check into SI- 17- 28 -24 -4 this Mr Hazel ton was advised that Council still wish them to start crushing work at Ginther's in this M D Mr H zelton thanked Council and then left the MR. HAZELTON LEFT meeting I ` Minutes and reports as received from the Calgary C.R.P.C. Regional Panning Commission were referred to briefly. Mr. Church moved that these be accepted and filed. Lands and Forests stated they have agreed to provide a PARK EXPENSES sum of $500.00 to assist in regard to park expenses this year, Application had been made for full amount of $2,000 00 and G King advised Council he is endeavor- ing to co tact the Minister for further information. Mr. Poole moved that this be accepted and filed Carried Mr Ferguson moved that Mr Cliff Collins be paid C. COLLINS - $25 00 as full settlement for truck damage as per SETTLEMENT OF Council's previous offer to him,an.d which Mr Collins ✓ TRUCK DAMAGE has now agreed to accept Carried Council was advised that the road committee has ROAD IN SW CORNER inspected the north -south road in the SW corner of 15- 34 -25 -4 15-34-25-4 and has met there with a representative of the Bridge Branch and later with Water Resources. It is agreed that the road be diverted to the east and Water Res urces will pay for the necessary land and the legal sur ey work. This is in connection with area to be floode by the Bigelow Dam Mr. Lemay moved that the report be accepted and the work proceeded with. Carried. He presently T.H. REAR travels through privately owned land and there has been APPROACH no actual problem concerning this Mr Ferguson moved that this be tabled. Carried. Mr Pole reported that the shut -off valve at the SWALWELL DAM Swalwell Dam should be closed Mr Paquette agreed to SHUT -OFF VALVE check on this later in the day Councl meeting adjourned for dinner from 12 00 DINNER iO noon to 1 P M. Frodle met with Council NORTHERLY PORTION and discussed the following items " OF M D. 1. Work equired on the Hutterite flat south of section 29 -34 22 -4 They stated that water floods over the r ad while the culverts are only partly full ROAD REPAIRS and t ey requested that the grade be raised They REQUESTED agreel that the land is boggy and the dirt would have o be hauled in from either end of the project Mr Pole moved that the Road Committee investigate and report back concerning this project. Carried 2 Mr. McLean, as renter of the SW- 36- 34- 22- 4,asked that Touncil do further backsloping and brushing just inside the fence line on the west side of that quarter Correspondence from and to Mr. T. O'Callaghan was read and it was noted that the owner stated he wished no work done within his property Mr O'Callaghan is presently in Manitoba but it was agree that he be contacted if possible for approval of th work as suggested by Mr McLean 3 Mr Jim Sailer reported regarding dirt having washe in on the west side of section 30 -34 -21 4 and it is now almost impossible for him to get to pasture land to the north of that. It was agreed that the Road Committee check this 4 Mr R nald Holmes asked that Council raise the grade in his driveway in the NW- 21- 34 -23 -4• The water in the slough adjacent to that driveway is much higher this year and at least part of the blame may be placed with the Municipal District in regard to road construction. Mr. Holmes alto stated that a dam in the area may have also con- tributed to the problem Mr Poole moved that the Road Committee check tris matter and also refer it to Water Resources for investigation and report.
