Mr C Dau of the Three Hills School Division was prese t during the greater part of the forenoon D. C. DAU Mr. Doug Hazelton of Linden Contractors met with Council He reported that they have completed crushing LINDEN CONTR. approximately 14,000 cu yds. at Megli?s and will need a further 10 days to complete the total amount of 25,000 cu yds. as authorized He stated some stripping GRAVEL would be aeeded at that pit before the next crushing is CRUSHING done thera Mr Hazelton was advised by Council that they wish ad him to move to the Municipal pit southwest of Torrinkton as soon as the work at Megli's is completed It was al o agreed that a ,eport be considered at the next meeting about the amount of gravel to be crushed at other loc tions, etc Mr Hazelton thanked Council and left the eeting Mr C. W. Poole moved adoption of the minutes of Feb 8/71 with a correction, the word "Secretary" where MINUTES ADOPTED used therein to read "Assistant Secretary - Treasurer" CORRECTION Carried. After brief discussion, he left the meeting. Mr Lemay moved that Armco Drainage be given an order for $5,000 00 worth of culverts at sizes deemed best by the Public Works Superintendent. Carried Circular from the District Engineer regarding ADVANCE R.W. advance ra lway crossing signs on the Municipal roads SIGNS was read Mr. Bauer moved that this be tabled until the v March 9th meeting and discussed when the District Engineer is present at that meeting Carried Accou t from the Provincial Dept of Highways, BRIDGE ACCOUNT Bridge Bra ch, for $7t374 62 in regard to the bridge 5E- 3- 34 -25 -4 SE-3-34-25-4 (Bigelow) was referred to Mr Church moved that the Secretary- Trea_,,. _ ^, investigate further regarding the prior arrangements in connection with this bridge Carried Information from the District Engineer in regard to LOOSMORE BRIDGE the proposed bridge near Loosmore's and the grading work, etc were referred to Council Mr Ferguson moved that the District Engineer and the Bridge Branch be advised v that Council wishes to proceed as per Line A of the plans subm tted Carried Lette of Feb. 9/71 from the Bridge Branch was BRIDGE - read in re and to the bridge in NE- 4- 29 -22 -4 (southeast NE- 4- 29 -22 -4 of Sharple ) This suggested three alternatives for the CD site Mr. Church moved that this be tabled for considera- tion by Council when on the Road Tour Carried Price quotations from B Berg Industries Ltd. for BOXES & HOISTS truck boxes and hoists were read Prices for three units installed, $6,003 30, not including sales tax Mr Church moved that the three complete units be bought for the neq gravel trucks Carried Plans from Alberta Government Telephones for buried cable in tie Innisfail exchange area were at hand A G T - Mr. Brown oved that these be referred to the local BURIED CABLE Councillor for study and decision Carried Letter from Miss Sophia Baerg asked for costs of ROAD GRADING private road grading in the Acme area but details were PRICES - ACME not given Mr Brown moved that Miss Baerg be contacted for further information as to what she actually wishes to have do e Carried Prices of crushed gravel at the various Municipal CR. GRAVEL PRICE` stockpiles was discussed briefly. It was noted particul- arily that the prices at Megli's and Linden had not been reduced after the crushing done with the bull- crusher had been used Mr Church moved that the gravel prices at Megli's and Linden be reduced .25 per cu yd as of Feb. 1/71 and that Council review all prices of crushed gravel at a later meeting Carried Mr Bauer moved that the account charged to ACCOUNT CANCELLE.' Mr. Ferguson reported that Mr Vern Huxley had been SNOWPLOWING charged $5,00 for private snowplowing work done about UNSATISFACTORY Christmas time and that the work was not at all satis- factory 11r Huxley had actually paid the charge but had voiced complaint to Mr Ferguson, Mr Ferguson moved that Mr Huxley be refunded the $5 00 charged subject to further checking by Mr. Ted Paquette Carried Mr Church moved that Council authorize the stock- STOCKPILING piling of up to 6,000 cu yds of crushed gravel by our 5E- 4- 30 -23 -4 Municipal employees at the Ivan Berreth location in the SE-4-30-23--4 and that Mr Poole have authority to make arrangemen s for the site Carried.
