REG PLAN to allow ce tain commercial developments in thb-- rural area of this, Municipality. The main example quoted was an application which is now pending for an auto body shop Page 9(h), first line of the proposed plan reads, "Commercial developments shall be located within the limits of u banized areas . °S. Mr Smith stated he w uld have no personal objection to changing the word "s all" to "should". Mr. Sm th advised that the proposed plan will be presented t the next meeting of the Calgary Regional Planning Co ission and it then may be 1 Adoptei as presented 2 Adoptei with some amendments 3 Referr d back to the zoning committee for further consid ration Mr Smith was further advised that Council accepts the principle oC Subsections (h) and (i) on Page 9 but they do not wish it absolutely restricted. They further stated that Council is willing to accept the plan with the amendme t of the one word "shall" to "should ", as referred to above and that Mr Poole be free to decide on other min r amendments which may be brought to the Commission 4 Relaxation of Provisions may be given - highly commercial areas have quite restrictive regu la- tions by the Act - It appeared that Grantville might be limited to its present size but this was not difinite If a commercial development was to be established on Highway #27 east, it would require an amendment setting this out as a new HD area Existing hamlets are not shown as HD but the Municipality may so designate them New hamlets, etc. would have to be named by the Commission An expansion to hamlets would have to be prece ded by an amendment to the plan approved by the Commission Limitations on development in Grantville as compared tc the Prairie Bible Institute was discussed It appeare there might be some discrimination. L-1 Mr Brown m ved that Council pay $30 00 toward the cost and that this be charged to that Fire Protection Area Carried Mr G King advised that a water truck is available WATER TRUCK at Three Hills for emergency use for fire calls and that the Chief of the Three Hills Fire Dept has the names of various Municipal employees that would be available to drive same No one is hired on a standby basis, so they trust to luck that someone will be available Mr Ferguson mo ed that that report be accepted Carried. Letter from Prairie Farm Assistance advised that NO ASSISTANCE there were no areas eligible for assistance for 1970. REPORT the Shop Cormittee report and machinery requirements be TABLED dealt with by Council tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 15/71, commencing at 9 00 A. M Carried. It was also agreed that the wage discussion for the WAGE DISCUSSION monthly employees be tabled until tomorrow TABLED A report from Mr Joe Dobler was read to Counofl in regard to loans of gravel, both levelled and unlevelled, taken as a spot check It was noted that there were -J.
