M Councillors A H. Church, R W. Brown and T A. Ferg son subscribed to the Oath of Office and each of th se oaths was placed on file Councillors present for this meeting were Mr H Church Div 1 Mr W. King, Sec. -Treas , was present and recorded minutes Mr C Dau of the Three Hills School Division was prese throughout the meeting Mr. G King as Secretary - Treasurer called for a motion or the election of a Reeve for a period of one year. Mr S C Schmelke moved that Mr R W. Brown be named as Reeve of this Municipal District for the ensuing ye r Carried unan. Mr R W Brown accepted this and tated that he would continue to do his best. DEPUTY REEVE The �inutes of the Council meeting of Nov 23/70 NOV 23/70 were then discussed as per copy which had been mailed MINUTES to each C uncillor. Mr Poole pointed out two minor CORRECTED correcteo s that should be made, namely, on Page 3, under the heading "Lane Closure ", the word "minutes" should be struck out and the word "agenda" inserted On Page 4, under the heading "Discussion Dept. of Hwys " the spelling of the name "MacEwan" should be corrected to "McCun ++ Mr. Ferguson moved approval of the minutes o Nov 23, 1970 subject to the two corrections as referr d to by Mr. Poole, above. Carried Mr erguson moved that banking business for the BANKING Current a d Payroll accounts be done through the BUSINESS Treasury ranch at Three Hills as in the latter part of 1970) hat signing authority for cheques, notes, etc. be g anted to the Reeve or Deputy Reeve together with the ecretary- Treasurer or in his absence, Mr. J C Jeffery as Assistant Secretary- Treasurer, and that the ecretary - Treasurer or his assistant have authority to pick up the cancelled cheques at the banks, sfIgn bank statements, etc , and that Mr G. G King, as Secret ry- Treasurer or in his absence, Mr J C Jeffery, Assistant Secretary - Treasurer, have authority to sign Payroll c eques, and that this motion be subject to the condition that the Treasury Branch continue to loan money as equired at lower interest rates than the chartered banks of this area Carried -- See Page 2 r 14 N H E FORM 149-P SPECIAL I I I L SUPPLIES r� COUNCIL MEETING Dec. 2, 1970 Pa ge 2 Mr Pchmelke made the following motion in regard to regula meetings of Council 1 That 11 meetings be held at the Municipal office in Th ee Hills and commence at 9 00 A.M. on the !gates as set 2 That e ular December meetings be held on Tuesday, Dec 5/70 and on Tuesday, Dec 29/70 3 That regular meetings in 1971 be held on the second and f urth Monday but if the Monday is a holiday, the meeting will be held on the Tuesday following 4 The d to of any regular meeting may be changed by Counc'1 Carried PLACE OF MEETINGS DEC MEETINGS 15th & 29th L.- 1971 MEETINGS Mr Pole moved that the rate of pay for the Reeve RATES OF PAY and Counc'llors as from January 1, 1971, be set at $25 00 pe day and 12¢ per mile for' mileage on Muni- cipal worc fdr all meetings, supervision, committee work or other 4unicipal duties, that under 5 hours away from home for a meeting or committee work be considered as J day, that over 5 hours away from home for a meet - ing or conmittte work be considered as one day, that any evens g meeting be considered as J day Carried. Mr. S hmelke moved that an allowance of e OVERNIGHT paid for any overnight stay required on any Municipal ALLOWANCE business Dutside of the Municipal District by any Councillo or Municipal employee unless somedther rate is specifically stated for any special case Carried Mr C urch moved first reading to By -Law # 660; BY -LAW #660 this bei a by -law to establish a Cou rt of Revision COURT OF and set rites of pay, etc for the year 1971, all as REVISION per copy ittached Carried unan.
