FINANCIAL The Financial Statement for the month ending Aug STATEMENT 31st/70 waE presented and discussed as per copy with these minutes. Mr F rguson moved that the P.F A report be accepted . by Council with one addition of an area that might be under 8 bushels er acre; namely, Sec 8- 31 -22 -4 Carried. Council was advised that Mr. Bob Deans Jr of Three CEMETERY Hills had dontacted Mr G G King and Mr. Gordon Park in MTCE regard to id possible contract for doing work at various cemeteries in the Municipal District Mr Deans had stated that he WOILld make a written proposal for Council to con - si-der but his had not been received at the present time. General di cussion followed. Mr. Gordon Park and Mr Tom Ferguson a so advised that they had authorized Mike Riley to clean u various old dirt piles at the Sarcee Butte Cemetery a a price of $5 00 each, with the estimated total cost to be about $45.00. Mr Park also suggested LOADER that the M D could use a small loader and perhaps attend to this work through the Agricultural Service Board better than in the past. Beagrie, with properties in Swalwell Copies of letters written to them, dated Augu t 25, 1970, were read and Secretary - Treasurer advised th loved t no relies have been received to date Mr. Poole that this matter be followed up Carried Letter from the l:crme and District Golf Club was read ACME GOLF in respect to taxes on property which it now owns in a CLUB TAXES portion of the N E 19- 29 -25 -4 The sub - division has gust recently been registered but it appeared that the Golf Club had use of the property in both 1969 and 1970 Council was also advised that no taxes are charged on the '701f course adjacent to Trochu,with the property being owned by the town of Tr chu in that case. Mr Lemay moved that the Acme and District Golf Club be charged $7£3.43 as the taxes and penalty on $1000 00 of the assessment for the year 1969, and that the 1970 levy of $66 10 be cancelled when payment of the other amount is received and that the balance of the taxes owing be charged to Mr Svend Nielsen as owner. Carried Mr Brown moved that Council approve the extension of CALGARY Calgary Power Limited services to the SE 3- 30 -26 -4 - POWER Ken Jackson as per map submitted Carried I ?r. G King advised Council that the Department of SWALWELL Municipal Affairs has approved of the sale of the various PROPERTY Swalwell properties for which by -laws have been passed by SALES Council, and that approvals of transfers are now being obtained. Mr Paquette also referred to the work on the Dry Canyon hill, which is being done together with the L I D and stated the relocating, of the road in the L I D portion has added considerably to the cost Mr. Poole gave certain information concerning this, that he had received from the District engineer.
