Some further brief discussion took place regarding ROADS road costs, as per records given to Council just prior to the noon adjournment. The Sec Treas showed Council a sketch map showing TROCHU EAST surveyed roadE at the River dill east of Trochu together ROADS AT with the nameE of the owners and /or lessees of the RIVER HILL adjoining tan s Mr Poole moved that Council take no action to lease or close any existing roads in that area l as same are needed for access to various lands Carried. Letter from the Three Hills School Div advised that it does not wish any school areas surfaced this year, mainly due to buildi g programs Tr Ferguson moved that this be filed Carried 4Correspo Bence to and from R Angus Ltd was read re warranty on t e new Cat # 12 motor Grader Cost of recient repairs was $233.40 of which $156 03 was credited under warranty, Co pany had charged a net of $77 37 for overtime, mileage & exp uses Mr Paquette added further information stating the C mpany had made the trip to repair their own D -8 Cat Tract r which was then on loan to us, overtime was their choice, motor grader could have been fixed on regular time 114r Ferguson moved that a further letter be sent to R Angus Ltd , with copy to Cliff Showers, salesman, explaining the situation further and asking for full warranty Carried 'Letter f om Bridge Branch was read re bridge in NE -4- 29 -22 -4 -- to be inspected soon. Another letter asked for our bridge an culvert request list for 1971 - this was tablyd for net meeting and each councillor is asked to have his list ready (memo - include extension for east end of Reimer1coulee) Council was advised that the Hutterite Colony N.V. of Allingham had asked about a culvert installation in the Smouf;e Creek WSW- 21- 32 -26 -4 Irlr Paquette advised that a 2 ft diameter culvert had been taken there last fall to be used fox, a low level crossing Mr Poole moved that the Hutterite Colony be advised that the M D supplied the 2 ft cul ert with the Hutterites to put it in and maintain it a it is nearly entirely for their benefit Carried See page 6 SCHOOL DIV. Paquette greed to attend to this soon Mr Paqu tte advised that the road surfacing is completed east and west of Three Hills and on the Linden mile S- 27 -30- SURFACING 24 -4, and on bhe mile to the Linden Nursing Home. Sept 14th /70 - 9 A M. *V DIX pro 51 i._ FORM :49-P SPECIAL MUNICIPAL SUPPLIES t MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF KNEEHILL No 48 Three Dills, Alberta By -Law No 647 - respecting Sunday Entertainment Whereas the Council of the Municipal District of Knechill No-48 desires to allow entertainment on any Sunday under the provisions of the Alberta Lord's Day Act, 1969, Therefore be it enacted that, subject to the final passing of this By-Law, Sunday entertainment shall be allowed in all parts of the said Municipal District of Kneehill as provided for in the Alberta Lord's Day Act in Sections 4 and 5 namely: quote 4 (1) When a Sunday by -law is in force and subject to its provisions, it is lawful in the Municipality, or in the part or parts thereof specified in the by -law, for any person, after 1 30 o? clock in the afternoon, to provide, engage in, or be presen at (a) any game, contest or sport, (b) any exhibition of an educational, artistic or cultural nature, (c) any theatrical performance, concert, recital, lecture or oth r performance, and ( ) any exhibition of moving pictures-------------- - - -- -- (2) When subsection (1) applies, it is lawful for a person to do or engage any person to do any work, business or labour on a SLnday in connection with an activity allowed under this Sectio w..wch, but for this Act, would be unlawful under Sec 4 of the Lord's Day Act (Canada) 5 This Act or a Sunday by -law does not authorize the providing, engaging in or attending at a horse race, dog race, boxing contest, or exhibition of wrestling or any other like exhibition or contest end of quote First presented to Council in regular meeting this 24th day of August, 1970 First moved by Councillor Brown Carried Second leading Reading moved by Councillor Schmelke.
