King, Sec -Treas , was present throughout ad recorded the minutes e Hills School Div. was not represented Mr Ch ch moved approval of the minutes of the Council meeting of July 28/70, as per copy which had been mailed to ea h councillor Carried MINUTES Mr Poo!1e moved approval of the minutes of the combined meeting of C' uncil and A. S. Board held July 28/70, as per ; copy which d been mailed to each member Carried. The financial statement for the month ending July 31/70 FINANCIAL was presented and discussed as per copy with the minutes STATEMENT This showed a net balance at the end of the month of $2,484 47, with $20,000 owing on loans Mr Ferguson moved approval of the financial statement Carried Mr Church mentioned that there is a poor metal cattle MARUZS gate at the McCracken-Maruzs location near W/SW- 23- 30 -23 -4, TEXAS GATE this--is used by a school bus Discussion followed Mr Schmelke moved that Mr Church contact Mr. Maruzs about improvements to the said cattle gate, with the idea of this M D supplying material if Mr Maruzs will donate the work required Carried. .Minutes of the meeting of the Three Hills School Div. Mr G King reported on his discussion with John J SICH Sich and others re inlet to NE- 2- 33 -22 -4 and other lands, ACME EAST Mr Sich w Lld like the road made passable along S -2 but agreed to see his brother Joe Sich about an inlet in SW -2, Mrs McGougan does not wish to allow inlet !� along west Eide of SW -2, if the road is opened she would lose the USE of app 4 acres of road allowance and would TRUCKS also need fence to keep cattle in. SCHOOL DIV SURFACING wishes the DI D to do some surfacing this year at the ACME EAST Three Hills School where the busses pull in and urload, perhaps also at other schools later Mr Schmelke moved that the S D be advised that the M D will co- operate !� after the M D roads are done, work to be at cost, willing to iscuss details, etc. Carried TRUCKS Mr. Le r ay suggested that the Prov Dept. of Highways TROCHU EAST ROAD be requested to take the road from- Trochu East into the !% Provincial Eighway network Discussion followed with various opi ions expressed including the idea that it might be better to delay this request until further work is done on existing Prov. Highways in this area, with particular reference to # 27 west of # 21 No motion was made in regard to this discussion Mr Br wn advised that the Motor Grader in Div 3 M G DIV 3 operated by Vern Bitz should be given a tune -up this was re erred to Ted Paquette and he advised it can be done when mechanic is available Mr Brown mentioned that # 26 east of Acme is "taking # 26 a beating" with gravel trucks hauling to the Prov. paving ACME EAST job leading into Carbon from # 21, the contractor must be asked to bring # 26 back to its former condition He also sta ed that the said # 26 will not be suitable !� for light c at surfacing unless it is first rebuilt Mr Pa uette advised that one of the new tandem Ford TRUCKS Trucks was aken to Red Deer on Friday last to have the transmissioa checked and for a routine check It should !% be ready tomorrow.
