Councillor Lemay asked to be re orded against the motion. Lette of June 2, 1970 from Mr. is H. Vickerman of Reid., Crowther & Partners Limited was read in respect to the proposed Wim orne water supply and pressure systeil. Discussion followed. Mir. Ferguson movei that the Supplementary Requisition of $217,690 be a cepted and that the increased amount of $2,657 be c arged to the mill rate when same is being set for 971. DIST was read It was noted that this was an adjustment of b undaries between the Olds Hospital District and the Innisfail Hospital District and did not affect our area in a direct manner. Mr. Bauer moved that this be filed. Brief discussion also took place as to whether or not the 1970 requisition should be paid prior to receipt of the decision of the rovincial Planning Board in regard to the appeal made by this 144 D T-,Tr Lemay moved that the minutes be f led. OLD C,`: BODIES C a P C Councillors Church, Poole, Brown, Bauer, Ferguson and Schm'elke, and Sec -Treas G G King had attended a meeting in the Calgary Regional Planning Commission office in Calgary in respect to the Preliminary Regional Plan They gave verbal reports of that meeting with particular reference to the close control proposed over any businesses in rural areas. Attention was also drawn to the brief as submitted to that meeting from the T` D of Rockyview Il Pair. Lemay moved that the Calgary Regional Planning Commission be advised that this Council believes v that rural business should be contrclledthrough zon�ng only and should not be restricted in the Pre iminary Regional Plan Carried Mr Brown moved that a letter be written to the C. R.P. C stating that this Council supports in principle the brief submitted by the Tai. D. of Rockyview in respect to the Preliminary Regional Plan and that Council is particularly concerned about the proposed res trictive xtemp in the plan and that a copy of this letter be sent' to the iii D of Rockyview Carried Mr C.W. Th Swalwell Co uaittee suggested that the building just to the east of the Swalwell hotel and also the building just west of the Swalwell hotel should both be removed as they are considered fire hazards and unsightly. Sec 158 of the Municipal Government Act ®was read in respect to regulations for tearing down or otlierwise disposing of old buildings. Mr Brown moved that the Council authorize procedure to dispose of the said buildings as per Sec 158 of the Municipal Government Act and that the Sec.Treas so proceed to give notices. Carried. 6 .. Carried unan The Swalwell committee advised that Lot 44, Block 4 is cne the 25 ft lot between the properties known as Hanses and Third Property. They recommended that thic not be sold unless to the owner of one of the adjoining properties and they also advised that Mr. Breingan has a garden on that lot this year Mr. Brown moved that Council take no action in regard to the disposal of Lot 44, Block 4 Swalwell at this time. Letter from the Insurance Adjusters for Jubilee F P?AY Insurance advised they had refused the claim of ,/ CLAIM Fred May for damages Mr Church :roved that this be filed Carried. The committee of 1 171 Church, C III Poole and G G HAI.1MEL King reported they had again met with HIr &Krs Wm LAND, ETC Hammell at Carton on June 4th and had arrived at a preliminary agreement for the roadway through a portion of NVI 11- 29 -23 -4 The total compensation was $2,500 00 I,ir. Lemay poved thatCounci.l accept the Agreement with 11'r. & MVs 'Wm Hau:iell and that expropriation proceedings not be taken as same is now not required. Ron Howe of the Three Hills Kinsmen Club met with KEIVER Council and discussed matter pertaining to the Keiver PARK Lake Park. Particular reference was made to the following. 1 Aey believe that some machine work should be done long the beach to cut down the grass which is g wing up an that area 2 re traffic posts are needed on the beach area to sp it the traffic 3 T ey inquired about the possibility of moving some id cement slams from west of "llingham to Keive Lake Park for a boat ramp. Counc 1 was advised that a dwelling had been removed « in Ja uary of t s year from Lots 5 and 6 Block 6 ?SLOPE Sunny lope (account No 6164) but the assessment had TAKES not been adjuster as of this date The taxes levied on the dwelling for 1970 were $95.:8. According to the information in it Codavision would give added reception to rural areas whereas Cablevision would only serve the cities or other areas where it was practical to put in buried cable There would be no obligation on anyone to use the facilities. Mr. Lemay moved that Council support the idea of Codavision as it may give wider reception to rural Alta Carried Mr Lemay stated that he had talked by phone with the Sec-Treas. of the village of Elnora and had stated ELNORA that he did not feel this Council should take any RECREATION action regarding a Recreation Area unless the local AREA residents showed they have a definite interest Mr Lema moved that a letter be written to the village of nora confirming this as the decision of Council Car ed.
