Comparison was also made with the licence fees that might be charged for general business carried on in the Municipali y Considerable discussion took place with a rate of 125 00 for a minimum being considered. It was noted small there might be ccnsiderable difficulty in enforcing business same. Mr. Poole proved that the matter of charging licence fees be tabled indefinitely Carried Council waE reminded that some decisions of the Court C of of Revisior had been tabled until !!ay 11, 1970 so Revision that the Assessor could take another Took at the decisions properties concerned. Council was also advised that May llth the Provincial Director of Assessments had stated there was no regulation covering same but recommended that appellants be invited again to the meeting of the Court of Revisior when final decision would be made It was agreed that this be done. 14r. Geo Park, assessor then left the meeting !- Geo Park Mr Ted Pa uette, Public works Supt. then met with T Paquette Council anc a lengthy discussion followed in regard to compaction equipment and the future use of the wagner mac tines The need for and possibility of purchasing an additional dirt moving machine of large capacity was also discussed. The Sec -Treas suggested that since Council is at least interested in a new purchase machine definite prices should be available when the proposal re budget is leing considered Mr Church :roved the Cat 6 or Sec -Treas obtain written price quotations for a Eucl id Cat. #621 and also for a Euclid TS -14 for a cash deal or for a cash less trade in of one of= the wagners and scrapers and also that information be obtained as to the extra that would be allowed on the trade in if the wagner snow plow were included; and that information be obtainec in regard to payment of 2 of the balance due by casl with the balance due on Plarch 1, 1971 Bids will be op ned by Council at 9:00 A.I.. Mr Morgan thanked Council and left the meeting. Letter from Edward .iener was read in regard to credit Ed for some snowplowing which he had done during the past Reimer years. Mr. Church roved that Council agree to the closure of this portion of the road if and when the other approach to #9 to the east of that is improved by the Dept Carried Mr Poole reported that the Universal Joint on the TS -14 TS 14 had broken and parts had hit and broken the damage - oil pan ant caused further damage. He stated that he had beer told that Dwayne Smith had reported it Ala* Koch loose and t1hat Lllan Koch had not taken any action & Committee to check same. This had resulted in greater damage and down time Ir. Paquette reported that the 3eiseker Detachment R C M P. of the R.C.M.P had reported that someone had actually D -7 tractor stolen our Municipal D 7E Caterpiller tractor last stolen Wed. Night and had driven it approx 32 miles to pull a truck out. It appeared that the owners or drivers of the truck might have been involved in certain thefts in the Carton area The R C M P are making further investigation and will report to our municipal office. IZr Poole oved that Council approve the laying of charges in this regard if the R C I-I P report so suggests Carried.
