APRIL 27th, 1970
A regular Oeeting of the Council of the M D of
Kneehill # 8 was held in the Municipal Office in
Three Hill on Monday, April 27th, 1970 commencing
at 9:00 A

of the Business Tax Bylaw and related matters He Geo.Park
stated that our assessment on elevators is now 42 per Bus Tax

and 22¢ in the annex He suggested therefore that our
Bylaw should be revised with rates to agree to the other;.
Comparison was also made with the licence fees that
might be charged for general business carried on in the

Mr Ferguson moved First Reading to Bylaw No,632, this By-Law
being a Bylaw to Emend Business Tax Bylaw No. 299 so #632 re

Mr Ted. Paquette reported that the 3eiseker Detachment R C M P.
of the R.C.M.P had reported that someone had actually D -7 tractor
stolen our Municipal D 7E Caterpiller tractor last stolen
Wed. Night and had driven it approx 32 miles to pull
a truck out. It appeared that the owners or drivers
of the truck might have been involved in certain thefts
in the Carton area The R C M P are making further
investigation and will report to our municipal office.

charges in this regard if the R C I-I P report so suggests

Hr Paquette reported that one road sign post about sign post

Letter of April 24th, 1.970 from the Deputy Minister AUXILIARY
of Health was read an regard to ward boundaries in the HOSPITAL DIS
Auxiliary Hospital District. This stated in part BOUNDARIES
"The Municipal District of Kneehill #48 has two wards
and it is the res_onsibility of the Municipality that
has more than one yard to determine the wards to effect
distribution of board membersY4 Considerable discussion
followed Mr. Poole then moved that this Council
establish ward boundaries for representatives to the
Hoard of the Mountain View- Kneehill Auxiliary Hospital
District as follows
Ward #1 -- that area which lies east of Highway #21
Ward #2 -- that area which lies west of Highway #21

Councillor T A Ferguson asked to be registered as
opposed.
The budget committee reported that they had net and BUDGET
had review Ed the 1969 budget and had kept in mind COMMITTEE

Because of reduction in the Suppi erentary School
Rate and t e elimination of the Provincial Hospital

noted that Council discussion today had pointed out
the need for an increase in allowance for nuisance
grounds as one new area might be established and the
cost would be about $5,000 00 It was also pointed
out that the Olds Hospital District Might require '
a large re uisition amounting to nearly 5 mills,
that the D umheller 11ospital District would require
2 mills urther information regarding hospital
requisitio s are still being awaited. It is hoped
that full Lnformation can be ready for Council on May 6th
It was agr ed the Sec -Treas get a quotation from each BANK

to interesb rates and availability of money in this
year.
