Mr Gordon Park, Ag Fi.el dman met with Council and GORDON PARK
gave a report regarding the cost etc. of applying RE SOIL

Mr Brow moved that a flashing amber light be installed FLASHING

Councillor eo. Lemay arrived at the meeting at
this time 9:25 A if
Mr. Poole moved that Mr Gordon Park, Ag. Fieldman
be authoriz d to do road side spraying with soil
sterilant oa all paved roads as per the details
previously Tiven by 14r Park Carried
The new grass seed ;policy of the Provincial Dept. of
Agriculture was discussed It was noted that the
M D is expected to pay the farmers and recover
the amounts from the Department an the form of grants
Council was asked if it is willing; to pay the amounts
to the farmers in advance of collecting from the
Province. Discussion followed. Mr Ferguson moved
that the Council agree to pay the grass seed accounts
to the farmers monthly Carried
Mr Gordon Park, Ag. Fieldman left the meeting at
this time
The minutes as received from Mr. Gerald Bruce, Dept.
of Youth were read in respect to the combined rec-
reation meeting held in Three Hills on April 4, 1970
Copies of letters from him to the village of Acine
and the toiin of "'rochu were also read and discussed.
Mr. Lemay stated that he expects Trochu will be
representec at the next meeting but he is doubtfull
if they will support the idea of a large recreation
board for the whole M.D of KNEEHILL and the towns
and villag s within it Considerable discussion
followed i clui -ing reference to the possibility of
a special recreation area tax if so desired. Mr
Poole movel that Council table decision in regard to
the idea o the large recreation board until after
the coming meeting in respect to save. Carried
Mr Geo. Park., Assessor met with Council and gave
a report in respect to revenue received by the
Municipality from oil well heads and other well
equipment. Discussion followed with special reference
to the policy regarding the provision of roads to
well heads etc Wo final decisions were made This
was tabled until the road program is being discussed
Mr Geo Park was thanked for the report and then
left the meeting.
Verbal rep its were given of the April 8, 1970 meeting
of the A,A M D and Counties held in Edmonton. All
Councillors except Mr. Church and Mr. Lemay had
attended Particular reference was made to the report
of the special committee shared by T /ir R Brown in
regard to assessment and taxation within the province

1 To put the road on the original road allowance
west of 11 would take approx 8$,000 cu yds. of
dirt and 260 ft of 4854 culvert and extra right of
way estimated at 2 acres.
2. To come from the south around the present diversion
and then continuing straight north through the fields
to tie in with the railway crossing would require approx.
30,000 cu yds or dirt at the coulee and 180 ft. of 4854
culvert. The first curve at the south might take 22
acres and the total right of way about 9 acres.
Acreage cut off to the west side of the road would be
about 38 acres This is now staked on the east side
of the proposed right of way
3 Follo ing the present alignment around the coulee
and back c the road allowance etc was not considered
practical
Discussion followed Mr Schiaelke moved that Council
accept proposal Ito. 2 as outlined above and that the
committee deal for 1Gnd and fences and other matters
pertaining thereto Carried.
Mr Bulyc stated that he would have full information
available by the end of this week in respect to acreages

Mr. Dobler I advised that a motor from the older
G.M.0 which had tieen bought after fire damage
was now being put into one of the gravel trucks,
and he stated that the power steering unit could
be adapted to our -,,resent truck. Pair Ferguson
moved that Mr. Dobler have authority arrange to
have the power steering transfered to the G M C
truck which 3s now 'tieing used on condition that
costs are not too great Carried.

the Three Hills School Division It was noted that

the School Division had sold part of the said lot 6
and all of the said lot 7 to Mr Tom Beagrie some
years bacL Mr Beagrie had failed to pay taxes since
then and lad not endeavored to register any transfer
The School, Division now has opportunity to sell the
remaining portions of the lots but proceedings are tied
up by the need of subdivision by the former sale, by
tax arear , etc Mr. Poole moved that a letter be
written t the Three Hills School Division giving them
details o the report as referred to in respect to the

Mr. A W Bauer moved that Council approve of the
building permit granted to Mr Max Beam for a Max Max x Beam
private garage in Grantville as per application
submitted Carried 3 Hills sub
Council was advised that Mr. Walter Hornbacher,
President of Horners Technical Supplies Ltd had
inquired about the ;possible purchase of certain
property in Sunnyslope. Brief discussion followed.
The matter could not be pursued as there was no
definite offer
Mr G King as -Uelfare Officer reported on Welfare
Assistance granted to Mr Newton Schmidt and family,
resident of the SS 6- 28 -20 -4 The amount granted
had been for groceries for 1 month only at present
and it is then to be reveiwed. IIr. Schmelke moved
that the report be accepted and filed. Carried.
Mr C W Poole., S.C. Schmelke, A W Dauer and T
Ferguson reported on the Annual meeting of the
County of Mountain View which they had attended
recently The attendance had been quite low and
totalling only 40 to 50 ratepayers Considerable
information of general interest was given by the
delegates Mr Church moved that the report be
accepted. Carried.

The Sec -T eas was asked to write Mr Reg Adams, P F R A
at Red Deer in regard to the control gate at the FYTEN DAM
Fyten Dam as there has been some damage to same with `
the ice this spring
Mr. Poole reported that kr Rod Sykes, T'4ayor of Calgary MAYOR
had met with the C.R P C fast Friday and had a good SYKES _
discussior in regarc' to the possibility of some industry C.R.P.C.
being located in rural areas and also many other matters

Copies of the proposed regional plan had just been
received at the office and Council was advised that PROPOSED
a meeting should be held with Mr k R Smith, Director MEETING -
of Calgary Regional Planning Commission for a full A R.SMITH
discussion of this matter Mr Brown moved that this C R P C,
meeting b arranged for either April 16th or 17 and
that Mr �on Dau be invited to also attend. Carried
