Mr. DonlDau of the Three Hills School Division was present for a portion of the meeting Pair. Poole moved approval of the minutes of the Special Council meeting held Feb. 20, 1970 and of the minutes of the regular Council Meeting of Feb 23, 1970 subject to 1 correction, namely; from Feb. 23, 1979, page 4 re: Vernon Jansen Dam should refer to the Grainger Dam (not Ghost D m). John Jeffery and others concerned INVENTORY explained the proposals for setting up a inventory record system and cost records for the various machinery. He particu arly referred to work orders, record card, etc Mr G ing and i:r Jeffery had visited the County of Mountaa. View to study their system briefly, but had found i had not operated entirely satisfactorily because no one was actually in charge, They stressed �. the need of having a full time part: man with related duties. Discussion followed in regard to this matter Mr Lem ay moved that the Inventory System, Cost Accounting be set p on a full time basis with Keith Smith to be offered the position. Carried. Discussi n followed. Tyr Schmelke moved that this District apply for a Natural Resource :oad Grant for the oad from E:cme west 4 miles for regrading and gravelli g etc at an estimated total cost of $28,000 Carried. RESOURCE RD. GRANT It was noted that Alberta Government Telephones should be advised as soon as possible of the 1970 grading program for this i-= D. A G T RE ROADS Discussion followed about the need for grading in 1970 for the road from Carbon south to #9 along the old Highway 26. iir. Poole moved that Mathieu Engineering Services be engaged to give engineering and other advice f T r this road as per their quote to Council at the prev ous meeting of 775 00 per mire for full services includin soil testing. Motion carried Letter from Coneco Equipment Ltd. was read regarding grader and loader thanking Council for consideration given to that coi_ipany Mr Church :roved that this be filed Carried. CARBON SOUTH ROAD MATHIEU ENGINEERING Letter from the I.pprenti.ceship Board advised that fir. R CR iNSTON Robert J Cranston had been successful in his course APPRENTICE - in regarl to 4th year credit as a heavy duty mechanic. SHIP His marks had been very good Mr. Bauer moved that congratu atxons be extended to Mr. Cranston. Mr Fer lith uson moved that any Councillors who are free to ANNUAL attend nnual meetings of adjoining municipalities be MEETINGS named a delegates to same, and that they therefore _ VARIOUS attend the regular rate of pay.
