SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL January 28,1970 ;ial meeting of the Council of the M D. of .11 was held at the Municipal Office in Hills on January 28th, 1970 commencing at M llors present were. Mr John Jeffery, Asst Sec -Treas was present and J JEFFERY recorded the minutes The 4ec- Treas. read a letter from Gulf Bulk Oil BULK FUEL agent at Three Hills stating that he wishes to bid on fuel for 1970 The secretary was advised to get info oration on last years bids and to submit tenders to tie same companies as last year Carried The ecretary then read a letter from the Dept of BRIDGE High ays re. the new bridge for S/SE- 3- 34 -25 -4 It v SSE- 3- 34 -25 -4 was greed by Council that this be tabled for Ted Paau tte later on in the meeting The Council then reviewed the 1970 Wage Agreement WAGE Change No. 1 is in Sec. B Clause 4 AGREEMENT Rotor graders for Divisions should be 1st 12 months - 2 65 per hr after 12 months - 2 70 per hr Coun illor Cliff Poole moved to have the Secretary LOST TIRE put in add in the paper re a lost tire which Ted - CHURCH Paqu tte put in Allan Churchts car and in fact was not k1lan Church?s car Carried Mr. eo Lemay moved that letters be sent to Mr Fred Nash and Mr. Don Hazelton that their services are no long r required with this M D He was also to send a letter to Mr Maurice Tourner advising him that his services are only required on a part time basis 1/ Carried WAGE Clause 12 AGREEMENT 9 months before CONTQD. Tom erguson moved that the terms be the �mployees can start coverage Cla e 5 of the wage agreement - -Only the Public Foreman can pprove annual holidays- -not the Council The ecretary was then advised to revise the new wage agr ement and mail a copy to all the Councillors bef re the next meeting W 2 SPECIAL MEETING Jan 28/70 Page 2 The S cretary was then advised to write the Dept of FLASHING Highways and see if any regulations could be found AMBER involving flashing amber lights. This concerns the LIGHTS fact that the Linden Church can switch on a flashing light at any time Councillor Stan Schmelke moved that we spend $10,000 CULVERTS on ne .culverts with the orders to be divided between four companies Ted Paquette and John Jeffery are to do the ordering, Graven T The Secretary then read the Shop Committee recommendations This �eeting then adjourned for noon Time eeting reconvened - -1.15 P M Count trad, Thes, Thes, Count vehil Tend Tend, NOON ^il advised the Secretary that we will offer for TRUCKS 7 individual trucks complete with box and hoist RE TRADE are to be four 1968 and three 1969 vehicles wil be two C.Iaevs, two Fords and three Dodges it advised that tenders will be put out on these TENDERS les as follows- r No 1 -- will trade any 4 vehicles for 4 vehicles. r No 2 -- will trade any 3 vehicles for 2 tandems Sub 't price on 1 2 gas tandems 2 2 diesel complete with 10 yard boxes and hoists Also the Companies are to quote if sales tax is applicable We are to send invitations to bid to the same companies as last year and also to put the tender in the Calgary Herold for 3 days - very small ad$ Moved by Ralph Brow , Carried _- TRAVALLALL N The Eecretary was advised to try and get bids out of Calgary and from all local garages re the 9 Passenger Carr ails We will try to trade both of these vehicles in. Church moved that we write the Bridge Branch SSE -3 -34- and ask if they can install the bridge at SSE- 3- 34- 25 -4,- 25 -4 as we do not hay._ the equipment to do so Carried 11z Mr Tom Ferguson moved that the Secretary write water letters to the .surrounding fire areas advising that / trucks we have two water trucks These will be maintained ✓ AVAILABLE in a starting position the year round and will be RE R F P available for emergenc -es The Municipal Employeees will Orive this equipment The Villages will be info ed that they should phone the fare number and to us our number only in extreme emergencies Carried Mr 'ed Paquette the-i left the meeting Time- 2 20 P M T PAQUETTE The Agreement between the Village of Linden and the AGREEMENT - M D of Kneehill #48 re, rural fire protection was \ LINDEN R.F.P. then read Mr Geo Lemay moved that this agreement be s'aned Carried A letter dated January 27, 1970 was then read from the PROV PL BD Provincial Plannin Board re. the proposed budget for BUDGET 1970 This stated that "The Board wishes to advise that a meeting, pursuant to Section 12(1) of The Planning Act, will be arranged with your Council as soon as it is possible All concerned will be informed of thle date when it has been established.P4 Mr Tom ci r Ferg son moved that th.'s letter be accepted and filed Carried was read DRY A letter dated Jan 26,'0 from Mr Gordon Taylor, Minister CANYON of Highways and Transport, in reference to the Dry Canyon HILL Hili Council instructed the Secretary to thank him for his letter and to advise him that we would like to dc the equivalent work of 265,000 cu yds of earth with our own equipment and would like to start as earl as possible in the Spring r Bauer then suggested that we should put some LIGHTS lights out to Grantville on the north side of the road ✓ AT GRANT Mr, Bauer was to see Canadian Utilities and come back - VILLE with further proposals at the next meeting Mr qeo Lemay then mored that this meeting adjourn.
