Be definite in the new Agreement Council motion of July 29/69 Page 19 was not referred to the employees and many were not advised of it in any way. Early circular did not specify any time limits. me - request overtime if over 55 hr. in any week; arguments both for and against, refer to Council ,us report should have stated that all public wirks employees requested every Saturday off, summer hours would be 11 hrs day Mon to Friday incl, Men are willing to work some Saturdays IF work is urgent and /or notice given, employer comm. suggests the latter is not workable as other plans would interfere if men expected the Saturday off. meeting dates - make these definite as otherwise no one calls a meeting. Employee comm. asked to meet the whole Council to discuss wages, etc , and this was agreed for 2 P.M. Tues Dec 9th next. 10 Recommend that the M. D. comm. and the foreman together grant promotions and /or transfers to other jobs where this is to be permanent.. Foreman to act for a period of up to 2 weeks on a temporary basis 11 Annual holidays - O.K to add clause stating not less than one week at any time, arrange in advance with P. W Supt 12. Agreed that instructions of a critical type should be kept on a private basis insofar as practical. 13. Natural Gas - Laborers now 2.71 hr, Grader Operators $3 12 hr Truck drivers $2 91 to $3.12 now. Calgary General Contractors Assoc (Local 1111) (outside 30 miles from Calgary) Now Oct. 1/70 Laborers $2 70 hr. $3.30 (40 hr. wk.) Trucks & light tractors 2.80 3.40 .on Plan - asked for detailed information as to the present plan, meeting to be held Wed. eve. with a representative of the Company to explain it. members to be paid for 2 day each for this and similar i.ngs. Employees being laid qff Fred Nash was hired before Keith Smith, Whywas he laid off and Smith kept on? 19 Noti e of lay off - 1 week minimum, notice to Fred Nash was given to him on Tuesday, should thus be paid for the following Monday as he is available for work Also 4% holiday pay. 20.
