Stephens en for the Elnora Hospital District and he was declared elected by acclamation. Mr Poole moved that this report be accepted and filed Carried Correspondence from Ferguson and Ferguson, Solicitors, Title re was rea in respect to a Title to a portion of the SW- 3,4- 32 -26 -4 3 and S -4, 32 -26 -4, lying south of the road diversion. He now as Title in the name of Peter Poffenroth but asked i it was necessary to have this Title consolidated with th NJ -33 -and NW- 34- 31 -26 -4 as previously directed Mr. Chu ch moved that Ferguson and Ferguson be advised that the Titles must be consolidated so that the area first referred to will not be sold to some other party as a separate entity Carried. Company stated that the estimated total cost of the NW- 2- 33 -26 -4 Torrin on Compressor station in NW- 2- 33 -26 -4 is Comp stn. $1)8951)00.00 The letter gave a breakdown and showed the mai item was that for instruments of $1,500,000 Mr. Church moved that this information be accepted and referred to the Assessor Carried. The Council was advised that the Alberta Assessment Alta Assess Appeal Board will meet at our office on Friday, Nov 21st Appeal Bd at 1 3C p.m. and 2,00 P M to consider the assessment Nov.21st appealE which have been directed to it from this District. Mr. Pe ers moved that this be accepted and referred to the As essor with instructions that he attend on behalf of the Municipal District Carried. Mr. G.G. King advised Council that an-old Welfare C Rueb account owing by a Mr Rueb in the -amournt of $296.55 old account has been paid to this Municipal District. No interest or costs were added. It was reported that comparative wage schedules are being obtained from surrounding municipalities and the men are getting schedules from other places in industry, and the committee will meet again on November 29 Mr. Arnold Boese of Linden Contractors met with council Linden He stated they are now crushing at Kneehill Creek near Contractors Dunphy for the city of Drumheller and expect to be there for approximately ten more days. He advised that they have recently taken approximately 1,200 cu.yds. of crushed gravel from the Municipal District Stock Pile in the Torrington area He will give a final report when the work there is completed It was also noted that a number of people had gotten private gravel and some mentioned were Ror Gore, J.B. Ross, and a 14r Peterson of Torrington. It was agreed that the next crushing at the Municipal Pit near Torrington clean out along the south fence line, and that this crushed gravel be kept in a separate pile as it will likely be of better quality Mr Ferguson reporte that the gravel near Mt Vernon in the NW 1 -31- 23-4 co ers a strip approximately 8 rods wide and almost one-hall mile long with the main portion being about 5 feet de p. Mr. Arnold Boese gave a definite quotation for g avel crushing if work can be done during the winter leriod and early spring at their convenii:nce Mr Boese t en left the meeting briefly Council discussed whether or not they should call for bids, and also whether or not oads should be leveled. Sec. - treas. advised council that the District Engineer of the Department of Highway!;, Red Deer requires that all loads done for them be leveled, and there are devices available to assist with that He did not have full details. Mr. Ferguson moved that a contract be given to Linden Contractors for gravel crushing as per the following details 1. egli Pit - $1 00 per cu yi. stockpiled on the asterly side of the creek All rocks up to 11 Ir 12 inches to be crushed along with the gravel 2. A 1 other gravel crushing - 75¢ per cu.yd. stock - iled at the site or within approximately 1 mile. 3. A 1 crushing is 3/4 inch 4 uantities as agreed upon subject to good quality f gravel Mount Vernon - NW- 1- 31 -23 -4 up to 12,000 cu.yds. Meglis - N2- 10- 30 -25 -4 up to 15,000 cu.yds. Municipal Pit -- E2- 16- 32- 26 -4:up to 10,000 cu.yds. Hesketh - A- 10- 29 -22 -4 - likely to be cleaned up when conditions permit. He thanked council and then left the Councillor Dunc Peters left the meeting prior to the abov motion approximately 10.45 a m as he wished to atten a sale in the Hanna area Linden Contractors cont'd D.Peters Mr. D n Dau of the Three Hills School Division came into the meeting at 10 35 a.m. also during the discussion D.Dau with Arn ld Boese. Mr. Ralph Haller met with council in respect to a proposal to have a community dam in the NW- 1$- 33 -22 -4 a short distance north of his residence. Mr. Haller stated that he was not certain he wished to proceed with the idea particularly in view of matters concerning the title. It was also noted that the access location might be dangerous. Mr. Podle moved that the Road Committee inspect the p 1posedlocation if Mr Haller first advises that he wljhes to proceed with the communi4 dam proposal. Carried. Mr. Haller thanked Council 4nd left the meeting Council adjourned for dinner from 12 noon to 1.00 P M Mr. C rtes Baerg met with council in respect to an applicat on to have a feeder shelter in the 5E- 30- 30-25 -4 and that the location be less than the 125 feet from the East-West Road all as per sketch which he submitted. Discussi n followed It was noted that the road is now developed and surfaced so will not likely be improved further It was also noted there are trees to the west so there should be no snow problem Mr Brown moved that the Municipal Regulations be relaxed and that Mr Curtis Baerg be granted the permit as requested. Carried Further discussion followed in regard to the meeting of the Employer-Employee Committee of November 1. Mr. Poole moved that a combined Christmas Party be held the evening of Saturday, December 13, 1969 and that the Municipal District pay the rent and lunch supplies, and that a charge be made to those attending to pay for orchestra and other refreshments, Also that a committee of Mr. Tom Ferguson, Dunc Peters, and G G King be authorized to complete arrangements and to invite former council ors-- Loosmore, Boese, and Campbell. In reply to questions he suggested that the price of 750 per cu yd for 3/4 inch crush is right in line with departamental bids.
