was presented and discussed, as per copy with these minutes.
This showed a net balance at the end of Sept. of $19,999 18,
but with $L49,000 00 owing on loans The Sec -Treas
advised th t tax collections were quite good for Sept
mainl due to the fact that one Oil Co had paid slightly
over W'O 0 Mr Schmelke moved approval of the monthly
statement. Carried.
Mr Irown advised the time set for presentation of
the Brief Irom this area re Assessment and Taxation is
Friday, Oct. 17th/69 at 3 00 P.M. in Calgary and likely
at the J. . Bowlen Building Mr Schmelke moved that
the Munici al District Comm to present the Brief be
Mr G G King and Mr T A Ferguson, with Mr. D Peters
as alternate, and that the Three Hills School Div. be

Letter from Three Hills Gas Co -op was read re
proposed gas line extensions north -west of Three Hills,
sketch diagram attached was referred to Mr Ferguson
moved that we request a definite map and follow the
regular policy re approval, including a requirement that
any line p rr-1 -el to a road be set back at least 125 ft.

Mr Foole moved that the Royal Bank and Treasury
Branch at 7hree Hills and the Bank of Montreal, Trochu,
be advised that Mr. H J. Hanson is no longer employed
as Assista t Sec -Treas of this M D., and therefore
the Bankin i Resolutions are amended by deleting his name
and authorty as previously given. Carried.

Mr C Jeffery, Asst Sec -Treas , then also met ACCOUNTS
with Counc 1 and presented the accounts and paysheets for
considerat on During discussion of these, Mr. Geo. Lemay G. LEMAY
asked to b excused and he left the meeting at 9 40 A M.
Review of the accounts then continued.
Mr ed Paquette, Public Works Superintendent, met T. PAQUETTE
with Counc 1 commencing at 10 20 A M - just prior to
considerati on of the paysheets, Mileage accounts of Motor MILEAGES
Grader operators L Litz and A Kimmel were discussed and
it was sug;his ested that they should work out of Three Hills
more of th time Mr Poole reported that John Esau had J. ESAU
to go back into hospital on Oct. 6th. The Sec -Treas
advised th t J. Hart and R Kober had not been paid for STAT HOL
Statutory olidays on the same basis as other employees - PAY

Mr Lyle Davidson, new owner of the Motel just east
of Three Hills, met Council and inquired about having
another space light (or similar light) on his property
at his own expense. He was advised to contact Canadian
Utilities and then to further refer this to the Sec - Treas.

The Sec -Treas advised Council that Mr. H Alton,
Dist. Engi eer, now has considerable information about
the propos d new road down the River hill east of the
Pope Lease - in Sec. 27- 29 -21 -4. Mr Alton is calculating
yardages a d getting rough cost estimates. Mr. Poole
moved that Mr Alton be asked to meet our Road Comm. to
review the details when convenient and that the Comm.
report bac to Council. Carried.
Some discussion also took place about requesting
the Prov. lept. of Highways to pay all costs of the
River hill road as referred to above.
Mr. ferguson moved that the price quotation of
Revelstoke Building Materials be filed - re sign posts
Carried.
A copy of the cost records of the various projects
completed which are a put of the regular road grant
program waE given to each present It was noted, that
costs of three projects far exceeded the estimates,
with expla ation being the high standard and difficulty
of locating suitable borrow pits, etc Mr Ferguson
moved that the records be accepted and application made
for the 1969 road grant of $103,711 Carried.
Discussion took place regarding the grading and
gravelling programs with special reference to
1 Culvert requested by Joe Appleyard W- 20- 29 -22 -4,
Ted Paquette to contact Reg Adam, PFRA, re levels, etc
2 Gravel crew moved to Elvins about last Friday -
contrary to decision of Council at 6—pt 29th meeting
There was mo explanation of this as Mr Dobler was not
present. he Sec -Treas agreed to contact Joe Doblev
and to advise him to follow Council directions to
do the por ion of Sarcee road and then move to Div 2
3 Repair work has been done on one D -8 All machinery
is now at work.
Council discussed the eligibility of Mr Geo. Lemay
as Council or - with reference to number of regular
meetings missed. The pertinent sections of the Municipal
Government Act were read by the Sec. - Treas., namely
29(1)(b), 1, and 32 Mr Brown moved that the Sec -Treas
discuss this with Mr A M Brownlee, solicitor, when
meeting with him on another matter as referred to earlier
in these minutes Carried
Alr chmelke moved that the next regular meeting of
Council be held on Saturday, Oct 25th/69 commencing at
8 00 A M t the Municipal Office, Three Hills Carried
