report of the meeting with the Council of the Village of CARBON
Carbon re its 196$ recreation activities, finances, etc. RECREATION
The report was read and discussed. It was noted that
Carbon wil make an application for Dept. of Youth grant
for 1968 b t it may not be granted as the deadline date
has passed Mr. Brown moved that our comm. report be
accepted and further action tabled until Carbon has a
reply from the Dept. of Youth. Carried.

of the Pra rie Bible Institute met with 6ouncil to discuss p B I
1969 Prov Statutes concerning possible assessment and TAXATION
taxation ii 1970 of P. B. I. property. An outline of the
general cl sses of buildings and approx assessment of
each was g ne over briefly. Considerable discussion
followed a d Mr. George Park, assessor, was invited in

Reeve Brow advised that no decision has been made but

Council agreed that the Pope Lease road be surfaced
to its full width - Mr Paquette estimate this at 32 ft.;
original cost estimates for the Contingency Grant had
been based on 30 ft. width.
The A reement for the Contingency Grant was reviewed.
Mr. Schmel e moved that the Reeve and Sec -7reas be
authorized to sign the said Agreement. Carried.
The Sac.-Treas. asked Council to set a policy as HEALTH CARE
toiwhen a new employee is eligible to join the Municipal & BLUE CROSS
group for Alta Health Care and Alta Blue Cross.
Mr. Church moved that each employee be eligible to join
under the 14unicipal group when he commences employ-
ment, that the M D make no contribution for the first
six month period, that membership be compulsoxey after
the first 6 mos. and that the M D. then pay one -half
of the regular premiums. Carried.
Mr Ralph Brown asked to be taken out of the
Municipal Blue Cross group as at the end of July as
he is for ing a group with his own employees. All
councillors involved are to be given a statement on
Aug. 11th next of amounts due for Blue Cross
Mr. 7. Paquette advised that 2 new doors aro now
being put on the M D metal storage shop as per contract
with Germain Construction A tentative quote from
Overhead Eoor Sales, Edmonton, of $2,746. had been
given to led Paquette for 3 matching doors for the
balance of the shop Ted stated that the former 3 doors
would need to be lengthened and that one of them is in
poor condition. Mr. Church moved that three new
matching doors be bought from Overhead Door Sales on
condition that the price is no higher then the quote
above, wi h the Sec - Treas to get definite prices
