The Sh p Committee also advised that the firm

had inquired about renting it back this Fall. If was

Mr. Vi6 Walls of Border Paving, Red Deer, met with
Council to discuss matters pertaining to road surfacing
and supply of variot.s oil and equipment, etc. Brief
summary of his prices were
1. MC 0 for priming delivered to the site - 15.7¢
per gal J, an if spread, 18 5¢ per gal (some possibility
of an increa e of 4¢ per gal.)
2 Emu sified oil (Flusky) - 22 2¢ per gal. f.o b.
here, or 26 ¢ spread on the road
3 Approximate quantity of MC 30 would be 5,270
gallons per mile
4 Approximate quantity of emulsified oil, 7,100
gallons per mile
5 Mr 'Walls as advised of the additional equip-
ment purchased recently by this Municipal District. He
expressed the opinion that there would be a need for two
storage tanko for efficient operation.
6 Mr. Walls stated that he would not recommend the
use of bunke oil for any roads as the material is not
consistent i quality.
7 The east -west road through Linden could be given
a shot of MC 30 first as a dust layer treatment while the
Municipal project fxmm farther east was being done This
would not be an actual loss

Mr. Wails thanked Council and then left the meeting.
The Se - Treas. advised Council that he had dust
received a phone call from Imperial Oil in Calgary and its
delivered price for L� -C 30 was 16 4¢ per gal They have no
spraying equipment 'Yestern Asphalt would likely apply the
oil at appro imately 3.50 per gal for a total of 20¢ per
gal. This p ice is therefore higher than that of Border
Paving as re erred to just above.
The Sec - Treas, also advised Council that he had
just had a phone call from Mr Ahern of Allied Chemical in
Vancouver and he had advised that calcium chloride could
be applied on a road in the Linden area for a cost some-
where in the neighborhood of $350 to $450 per mile. Mr.
Ahern will be in the district in a day or so and further
details will be obtained in regard to the road north -
south by the Linden Nursing Home Council agreed to this
matter.

bed Nursing fome was not an economic size and thus there
would be an onnual deficit in its operation

to Olds was made by the Board but there is considerable
controversy over this matter

Mr Wright was thanked for coming to the meeting and he

Matter pertaining to Recreation Grants of the
Village of Carbon were discussed The Secretary- Treasurer
read to Council a copy of his letter of May 13th last to
the Secretar - Treasurer of the Village of Carbon and ad-
vised that n reply had been received in regard to fin-
ancial matte is in recreation there. Mr. Poole stated that
a letter is supposed to come here from the Carbon Recreation
Board but that had not been received either Copies of
the correspo dence referred to with the Village of Carbon
was supplied to Mr Cliff Poole as representative to its
recreation B ard.
