The m nutes of the previous combined meeting held on Jan.27th, 969, were reviewed by the meeting Mr. Poole moved that the minutes be adopted as circulated Carried. Motion carried Mr Brown moved that the Pesticide Applicators License License be renewed for Mr Lorne Boese and Mr. Gordon Park and that the Municipal District pay the necessary registration fee of $10 00 each. Motion carried Mr Lorne Boese reported that the operation which L.Boesc he had had Earlier this winter was not healing and that he was now waiting for a callfrom the hospital and will have to have another operation The matter of summer help for the Agricultural Summer Service Board was discussed at some length by the meeting Help Mr Georges Lemay moved that the wages for extra summer help for the Agricultural Service Board be set at $2.25 pe hr for any man that has worked the previous year with t e A.S.B and that for any new help which is hired, the ate be $2.15 per hr. Motion carried The matter of holidays for the Agricultural Service Board employees was discussed. Letter from the Sec - •Treas of the M.D. to Depart - mn.t of Municipal Affairs inquiring about legality of the M.D doing certain work for the Drumheller Exhibition and Stampede Board 2 Repl from Mr Bruce Ramsay of the Department which states that, in his opinion, it is very doubtful if there is any auth rity for such work Mr Poole moved that this information be accepted and filed and that a reply be sent to the M D of Starland thanking them for forwarding the information Carried Applications for work as received from H D. Strohschein, Otto Enzie, Randy Gieck, Don Cassidy, Wallace Davidson, and Donald Eauer were referred to very briefly. Mr. Paquette advised there is no need for extra help at this time Mr Feters moved that the applicants be advised that their applications are on file and may be considered later but that Mr Don Cassidy be advised that it is doubtful if any work will be available for him. Carried The Sec. -Treas read to Council a proposed agreement with Postil s in regard to gravel stockpiles and entry,etc. on land adjacent to tho Tolman Park area. Mr. Lemay moved that this A reement be approved by Council and that the Reeve and S c. -Treas be authorized to sign same on behalf of the Municipal District. Carried. The Sec -Treas was asked to check as to whether or not Gus Gieck and Gary Iverson had paid for the bunk cars purchased f om our Carbon yard. Bills are to be sent if the account have not been paid Mr Peters referred to the propane ?fridge which the Municipal District purchased some time ago and which is at the Wilson farm. He believes that Mr Roland Winter of Drumheller may pay $100.00 for this and that is the cost to the Municipal District Mr Poole moved that Mr. Peters have authority to sell the used propane fridge Carried Mr Ted Paquette advised that Cunningham Construction of Calgary have a used 50 ton press for sale at a price of $450 00. It is almost like new in condition and he has seen same and believes it would be suitable for use in our shop Mr Ferguson moved that Ted Paquette be authorized to purchase this press for the Municipal District. Mr Chu ch moved that the correspondence and reports of Mr Pool be accepted and that a further $15 00 be paid to the Calg ry Regional Planning Commission in respect to the subdiviclion application as per No-3 above Carried. Brief discussion followed in regard to the two proposals for the Hes eth road and also in regard to the two proposals for a change of location from the bridge on the Ghost Pine Creek which is now east of Allen Huxley's in Sec.3- 31 -22 -4 It was agre d that these be reviewed further by Council when conditions ermit Mr Peters moved that the District Engineer from Red Deer be asked to provide the profiles and other information as 4. requested by the Bridge Branch for certain locations as per their repor Carried Mr Ral h Brown and Dunc Peters gave Council a fairly LABOUR lengthy ver al report of the Labour Relations workshop RELATIONS which they 'ad attended in Calgary this past Thursday and WORKSHOP Friday Co siderable general information of interest had been ob ained A few of the points referred to were 1. A Wage increase is not necessarily related to service 2. Employers should recognize long service but shouldn't overdo this in promotions 3 Most unions are now demanding double time for pay for Sundays 4 Thera is an increase in pressure in all areas for the 40 hour wee 5 Empl yers should be certain to keep in good standing with the Wo kmen's Compensation Board and insist that the employees bD careful. If anyone is careless repeatedly, then that person should be laid off See Page 10 Feb 24th/69 Page 9 A letter of January 24/69 from the Provincial Bridge BRIDGE Branch was r:-,ad to Council in respect to our Bridge and BRANCH Culvert requ st list for 1969 One copy of this is being supplied to aach Councillor and to Mr Ted Paquette so details are aot listed herein It was noted that the following may be supplied 1. New bridges (a) File 70861 - W/NW- 5- 32 -24 -4 (Stickle) - 281 precast and 241 roadway (b) File 1657 - S/SE- 3- 34 -25 -4 (Bigelow) - if road is re- aligned, Bridge Branch will build the bridge and charge the M D. the costs which are estimated at $5500 This would be two 201 treated timber spans 211 wide roadway.
