D of Kneehill $was held in the Municipal Office, Three Hills, Alta. on Mon Feb. 17/69 commencing at 9 A M. Counci Mr. A. Mr C Mr R Mr. Du Mr T Mr Ge lors present H. Church W Poole W Brown �c Peters A Ferguson lrges Lemay for this meeting were Div 1 2 3 (Reeve) 4 5 7 Page 1 Mr G IG King, Sec. - Treas., was present and recorded the minutes Mr D C Dau, of the Three Hills School Division, was present for this meeting Mr T Paquette, Public Works Supt , and Mr Joe Dcbler, FOREMEN Gravel Foreman, met with Council and were invited to express their opinions regarding all bids considered at this meeting. The bids for the supply of fuel to this Municipal District were then cpened and read to the meeting - a brief summary FUEL of the bids are on a separate sheet with these minutes but BIDS the original bids on file must be referred to for full details Discussion followed It wasnoted that Texaco had the contract for bulk f el this past year and there had been some problems regarding oervice. Mr Pole moved that the contracts for fuel supplies for one ye r be awarded as follows FUEL ORDERS Imperial 0'1 Ltd - bulk gasoline delivered to our job sites From arbon or Trochu)- orange or purple - 1$,00 + tax or Three Hills Diesel. Ltd - Cliff Showers Costello Equipment Co. Ltd. - Lorne Thiel Coneco Equi ment Ltd - Pat Malo Wajax Equiproent Ltd - Fred Heather DINNER TRUCK BIDS & ORDERS $795 00 The bi s as received from the above listed firms were then opened and read and included offers for trade -ins A summary i enclosed with the minutes, details are on file The agents then left the meeting Council then discussed the bids in detail and also gave special attention to the actual offers for the trade -ins Mr Paquette advised that both the old # 12 and old Austin - Western are in quite good condition, the Austin - Western has the Ate co unit on it and is very suitable for that work Council agreed, without motion, that neither of the used machines be traded in and that only one new Motor Grader be purchased in 1969 Further consideration was then given to the specifications and cash prices as per the bids Mr Ken Hammer was invited back in to the meeting and, in reply to questions, advised that wheel weights were not included in his bid - cost is $267., that tube type tires with flaps were included in the bid Delivery could be prompt for a Champion similar th those we now have He again left the meeting Mr Poole moved that an order be placed Supply Ltd. for one New D600 Champion Motor as per Page 3 of their quote at a cash price plus wheel weights ------------------- - - - - -- Total cash price Motion carried unan with Ferguson Trader equipped of $34,253.00 -- 267 00 ,T34,520 00 All ag nts re the Motor Graders were invited back in to the meet ng and advised of the above decision. Discussion Church moved that this proposal be approved that the Municipal welder is at Carbon and able but that there be no obligation on the Municipal District in this regard Carried. Mr Pa uette advised that he had made inspection of the road si ns west and south of Linden at the location where Henry Dick had reported having an accident, in Mr Paquett 4s opinion, adequate warning signs were up Our Insurance Company will be so advised. He was advised that this will require further study. It was later noted that the Council favors the use of Route B as compared to Route A of the Govt. plan but are hesitant about agreeing that the 18 ft width is sufficient Mr. G. Lemay left the meeting at this time - approx 4 20 P.M. Mr. Poole moved that Mr G G King be appointed as Welfare Officer of this Municipal District. Carried. Mr Brown reported that he had authorized $50.00 emergency welfare assistance for a needy family recently during the absence of Mr G G King The case will now be further investigated Mentio was made of a Recreation Meeting to be held in the Town School at Three Hills on Sat. Feb. 22nd, commencing 4t 9 A M It was also noted that the Council and Agricultural Oervice Boa d are to meet jointly on Monday, Feb. 24th. Mr Pe ers moved that this meeting do now adjourn until 9 A M on Monday Feb. 24/67. Carried.
