Mr Pe ers moved that Canadian Western Natural Gas be given pe mission to cross the road allowance with CAN WES natural gas line to serve Victor Smith in s 33- NAT GAS as per thei plans subject to the road crossing sing being ` bored or of er arrangements made which are suitable to Councilloruchnnelke Carried. DRUM A lettor from the Drumheller Health Unit gave HEALTH notice of 'public meeting to be held in the Health UNIT Unit Buildi g, Drumheller, at 2.00 p m on August 23rd for a discu lion of Bill No 87, this being an Act als of this Bill respecting ealth regions A few propos were discussed briefly with special reference to the proposed enlargement of the Health Unit areas and changes of boundaries, the additional authority granted to non- elected representative and the effect n putuisi- tions on a will rate basis instead of rural a population ers would basis It appeared that the cost to rural arrangement. Stations which STATIONS are being closed and others from which caretakers are being removed. Mr Peters moved that this information be filed. Carried. A copy of a letter of June 25th/68 from the Chairman of the Communal Property Control Board to the Hutterian Brethren of Huxley was read to Council. This stated in brief that the Board did not approve of the rezoning of the Huxley area to permit greater acreage and also did not approve of the transfer of the titles of land held by individual hutterites into the corporate name of the is Colony unless the total acreage operated by the reduced to the zone maximum of 6,400 acres Mr Poole moved that this be accepted and filed. Carried. Mr Jack Lynch met with Council. He is the owner of the SW -34- 33-22-4 and he stated that Mr. Tom Lynch had put a fence along the west side of his property from the north corner south approx 30 rods to the big coulee.By so doing, Tom had included that portion of the road allowance along with a portion of the 5E -33- 33-22-4 Mr. Jack Lynch also stated that only a very small gate had been put on this fence and it is a problem to get onto his land with machinery He further stated that he had no problem coming to the north side of his property through Mr. Rilling1s land and other lands Discussion followed Mr Church moved that a letter be sent to Mr. Tom Lynch advising him that he had no authority to claim use of the road allowance referred to and tatW e should remove the fence which he evidently placed a west side of a portion SW- 34- 33 -22 -4. Carried. Mr Jack Lynch thanked Council, then left the meeting LETTER RE: HUTTERIAN BRETHREN HUXLEY J. LY NCH SW- 34- 33 -22 -4 A letter from the Department of Municipal Affairs BY -LAW advised that By -Law No 587, respecting the sale of two # 587 lots in SwalweRto Mr Jack Cogbill has been approved. Mr Poole moved that this be accepted and filed Carried A letter from the Land Titles Office advised that the LETTER RE: approval of the Calgary Regional Planning Commission is APPROVAL OF needed before the title to the two lots sold to Mr. Jack C.R.P C. Cogbill by By -Law No. 587 can be registered.Ur Schmelke moved that application be made to the Calgary Regional Planning Commission for approval in this regard Carried. Mr Schmelke reported that the old garage building, LOT 1 etc from Lot 1, Blk 1, Wimborne, has been entirely torn BLK 1 down and the site has been well cleaned up The cement base WIMBORNE was left but this does not create any problem. Brian Parry - to buy NE- 19- 31 -24 -4 from David G Smitheks The applications and all related documents were r�ferred to Council Meeting, together with the apprai0als of Mr George Park Discussion followed in regard to each of these The Sec -Trews advised he had phoned to the Alberta Farm Purchase Board, Edmonton, on July 8thjand had been advised that Council could submit two applications but should definitely give the order of priority T ere was no guarantee that even one would be processed b4t they would be considered at the Board9s meeting on 4uly 19th if they are in Edmonton prior to that date r Brown moved that Council approve of the two applications referred to above and that both be submitted to the Alberta Farm Purchase Board with definite priority given to the application of Eldon Jantz. Drumheller gave an outline of its recreation program STATEMENTS and thankedCouncil for its support in the form of grants Mr Peters $moved that this be accepted and filed Carried. The Seic - Treas 3vised Council that none of the Towns or Villages; of this area had replied in writing in respect to the proposed Recreation Agreement Various Councillors stated that the towns and villages of their areas have done considerable organization work and they agreed to ask for replies sodn In the meantime, correspondence from the Departmentof Youth is being held on file. Mr Poole moved thatany further action on this be tabled pending replies from the towns and villages Carried. Mr. R�ck Strand of Alberta Government Telephones, A G.T. Edmonton, then met with Council and considerable dis- cussion took place regarding the problems connected with telephone gables where road construction is underway. The Mo thly Financial Statement for the month ending June 30/68 as presented and discussed briefly This showed a net balan e at the end of the month of $3,045 97 but with $183,000 owing on loans The Sec -Treas also advised that July deposits to date total approx. $45,000 Mr Schmelke moved approval of the Financial Statement. Carried Mr Doh Dau arrived at the meeting at this time Mr. Peters moved that Canadian Western Natural Gas be given permission to cross the road allowance with an natural gas line to serve Victor Smith in NE- 21- 33-26-4 as per their- plans subject to the road crossing being bored or of er arrangements rude which are suitable to Councillor 3chmelke Carried. A letter from the Drumheller Health Unit gave notice of a public meeting to be held in the Health Unit Buildirig, Drumheller, at 2 00 p m on August 23rd for a disc Sion of Bill No 87; this being an Act respecting iealth regions. A few proposals of this Bill were discus ed briefly with special reference to the proposed en argement of the Health Unit areas and changes of boundari s, the additional authority granted to non- elected re esentatives and the effect of putting requisi- tions on a ill rate basis instead of on a population basis It appeared that the cost to rural ratepayers would increase considerably under the new arrangement Mr Brown moved that all Councillors of this District be delegates to the meeting referred to above Carried Mr C1 and Mr G. for present Units as re D. Stations which STATIONS are being closed and others from which caretakers are being removed Mr. Peters moved that this information be filed. Carried A copy of a letter of June 25th/68 from the Chairman of the Communal Property Control Board to the Hutterian LETTER Brethren of Huxley was read to Council. This stated in RE. brief that the Board did not approve of the rezoning of HUTTERIAN the Huxley area to permit greater acreage and also did BRETHREN not approve of the transfer of the titles of land held by HUXLEY individual hutterites into the corporate name of the Colony unless the total acreage operated by the Colony is reduced to the zone maximum of 6,400 acres Mr Poole moved that this be accepted and filed. Carried Mr Jack Lynch met with Council. He is the owner of J LYNCH the SW- 34-33-22 -4 and he stated that Mr. Tom Lynch had Sys -34_33 -22-4 put a fence along the west side of his property from the north corner south approx 30 rods to the big coulee By so doing, Tom had included that portion of the road allowance along with a portion of the SE- 33- 33 -22 -4 Mr, Jack Lynch also stated that only a very small gate had been put on this fence and it is a problem to get onto his land with machinery He further stated that he had no problem coming to the north side of his property through Mr Rilling?s land and other lands Discussion followed Mr Church moved that a letter be sent to Mr. Tom Lynch advising him that he had no authority to claim use of the road allowance referred to and taliabte should remove the fence which he evidently placed a west side of a portion SW- 34- 33 -22 -4 Carried. Mr. Jack Lynch thanked Council, then left the meeting A letter from the Department of Municipal Affairs BY -LAW advised that By -Law No 587, respecting the sale of two # 587 lots in Swalw.en to Mr Jack Cogbill has been approved Mr Poole moved that this be accepted and filed Carried A letter from the Land Titles Office advised that the LETTER RE: approval of the Calgary Regional Planning Commission is APPROVAL OF needed before the title to the two lots sold to Mr Jack C R P.C. Cogbill by By -Law No. 587 can be registered Mr Schmelke moved that application be made to the Calgary Regional Planning Commission for approval in this regard Carried Mr. Schmelke reported that the old garage building, LOT 1 etc from Lot 1, Blk 1, Wimborne, has been entirely torn BLK 1 down and the site has been well cleaned up The cement base WIMBORNE was left but this does not create any problem Mr. Brown moved that this report be accepted. Mr. H J Hanson then left the meeting and Mr G G King, Sec Treas , returned and recorded further minutes Mr Rick Strand of Alberta Government Telephones, Edmonton, then met with Council and considerable dis- cussion took place regarding the problems connected with telephone cables where road construction is underway.
