Drainage at Leon Coates - S/5E- 17- 29 -23 -4 - Mr. Coates requests that the 2499 and 1899 culverts across the road east of his driveway be taken out or blocked off and that the water be taken to the west; a 3049 culvert might be put across his driveway or across the road at an angle 2 Russel Snell bridge - W/NW- 22- 30 -23 -4 - We should have a bridge inspector c eck the approaches More rocks are needed to the north of the bridge n the west side as water stops 3 Possible gravel location - NW- 36- 30 -23 -4 (T A Ferguson) - This should be tested 4 Gravel in 5E- 1- 31 -23 -4 (R.E. Andrews) - Brief inspection of stock pile, etc. r. Andrews was not home so committee will need to see him later. 5 W-30 31- 30 -23 -4 (Charlie King North) - Approx. 2 mile of fair good road, ould need to be regraded if it is to be gravelled. Move "Grave Ends" sign to the south corner. 6 Near S corner 17- 30 -22 -4 (South hill south of Merle Andersons) Road could a widened to the west at the blind corner, leave the hill alone. 7 W -28 & 33- 29 -22 -4 (Isaac O'Rourke) Good dirt road - would need regrading i it is to be gravelled, Consider government culvert to replace bridge at O'Rourkes or widen the present narrow bridge, limited vis c;n to the south'.'- narrow bridge sign needed, move "Gravel Ends" sign to the south corner 8. Groen � East of Carbon on Sharples road - Minor work needed to improve cur es, etc. (not inspected) 9. In SW- 6- 29 -22 -4 ( Sharples East) Surface reclamation committee should chec4 to see if waste from the gas well is being dumped into the water c annel. 10. Gravel 'Pit in NW- 10- 29 -22 -4 (Sharpies - Hesketh) One Cat. and Euclid stripping and should finish about the end of this week, limited quantity of gravel. Consider testing approx 1 mile to the east by seismic drill - near railway 11. E Frithg Approach - E/NE- 15- 28 -22 -4 - Only fair vision to the south - 350 to 450 ft. 12. sea 18 & �9- 28 -21 -4 (Groenveld N -S) Cut the knoll just North of the No, 9 highwa and improve the whole road along the present location 13 NW- 10- 2$ -21 -4 - Beynon intersection near No 9 - Council shouldsee if signs are Ineeded (Perhaps yield for North -South traffic both ways). 14. 5 -15- 2821 -4 - Quite good now with trees for a snow break but should be re uilt sometime to higher standard 15 W -34 -28 21 -4 & 5 -3- 29-21 -4 - Vickers - Ness - Should definitely clear the fe ce lines and improve the road so as to reduce the pro- blems with s owplowing Perhaps leave S of 3 until after harvest M� See Page 2 REPORT OF ROAD TOURS APRIL 16, 1968 Page Z 16 Nac ine Pit in NE -7 -29 20 -4 - Mr. Church had a drill test for gravel and reports 75 ft cover and 75 ft of gravel. Perhaps should do stripping as gravel is very limited otherwise. ' 17 W/N- 24- 28 -20 -4 (South of Fen ) Mobil Oil has gravelled the pipe- line crossing but the culvert is blocked Write them. 18 Contact Hon Taylor re Pope Lease East hill to get estimates etc. Sury y crew was working there , on this date 19 From SE-26-29-23-4 blest on Pope Lease Road - Continue re- grading to a good standard. Contact George Appleyard re trees at farmsteadlin NW- 22- �9 -22 -4 20 Remp er hest - S- 16- 30 -23 -4 - Put up a good curve sign in place of the pr sent one. 21 S -SE- 7- 30 - �3 -4 - Metzger West - Lengthen culvert needed) a d raise fill, etc. to improve vision (or new one if 22 E-11-30-24-4 - Gerlitz North -- Consider clearing low dirt ridge from west roperty line and take water south approx 4 mile to the coulee Ge levels along the ditch and consider culvert needed for the approach i to the field. 23 S-26- J0 -24 -4 - (Wulff) - Regrade to good standard; buy extra land 24 W- 14- $0 -25 -4 (J D. Toews) - Cut down the knolls at his driveway and also the one to the south to improve vision, check re X G.T cable 25 Megli Gravel Pit in N- 2- 10- 30 -25 -4 - Crusher at work, our gravel crew also moving in 26 !V-26-30-25-4 (A. E. Regehr - Toews be installed and knolls cut down to improve4visiionrnment culvert to �7 W-3 & 10-31-25-4 (Simon Ratzlaff) - Fair T year. To the north is the Henry Mavis r­-id �,rade regravelled this 28 Linden West Gravel Pit - Nearly all crushed gravel now hauled out, should strip , likely on the north side 29. From S13-25-30-26-4 °lest 6 miles (Linden West) - Should regrade to a good Standard., improving the diversion at N -21. Put Yield sign for traffic from South at NV- 2^- 30 -26 -4 Can Utilities line from Art Taylors east, Calgary Power on the west 14 miles 30 Linden East road - Heavy traffic, dusty and hard to maintain. Consider light paving as a test area 31.
