Mr H J Hanson, pres nt throughout t in the absence of Mr Mr Donald Dau, Scho 1 1 Division, was Assistant Secretary - Treasurer, was he meeting and recorded the minutes G.G King representative of the Three Hills not present at this meeting. Mr Peters moved that the minutes of the meeting APPROVAL held February 26th/68 be approved subject to the following - OF change Page 4 - A G.T films ,etc - correction as to location CORRECT mentioned by Mr. Poole - should read SE- 1430 -24 -4, 2 miles v- ION east f Swalwell potion carried. ® r. Doug Hazelton of Linden Contractors Ltd. met with LINDEN Council and discussed various items pertaining to the CONTR grave crushing program Mr Ralph Brown reported that he had inspected and discu sed the Oil Surface Treatment which has been carried out in the Municipal Districts of Strathcona and Stony Plain He stated that, in cases where a good road base was already there with approximately 400 cu yds. of gravel and 121000 gallons of oil placed on these roads & worked in, they were getting two to three years service from t em. He further stated that the oil was costing these 4unicipal Districts 0$¢ per gallon and, considering this aid eliminating the other maintenance,etc.,the cost was no excessive He suggested that the Council should me of this type o -f surf :cin this year consider doing so . Hazelton reported that they had crushed 19,600 cu.yds of gravel at the Municipal pit under Winter Works up to aturday noon. Mr Hazelton was asked what the price Would be for !2 " crushed gravel at the Municipal ® and Me li pits should Council decide to have some done He was not prepared to give a definite price without v talking: the matter over with his partner, Mr. Arnold Boese, but stated that the cost would be approximately $1.25 er cu yd Mr Poole moved that Council authorize Linden Contractors to crush 2500 cu. yds of z`�gravel of the unicipal and Me 1i y 2 °` crush at each ti g pits at approximate price of � $1 25 per cu yd Motion carried. Mr Schmelke had not been present at the Ann al Meeting and thus did not receive his Award ✓" at the sam4 time as others did at that meeting. Mr. Schmelke thanked Mr Brown for his comments and Council for this Award A w itten report regarding the Welfare case of Mrs WELFARE M. Mr Poole movel that, as this was a slack time in the office, Mrs Hart e authorized to take three weeks holidays as requested Motion carried A request from the Publicity Bureau of the Govern- SUMMER ment of Alberta for assistance in compiling a list of EVENTS summer events in Alberta was presented to Council Mr. Peters mov d that they be advised that this information could be more readily obtained from the various Towns & Villages at most Sports Days and other events were sponsored ly organizations within their boundaries. Mr. this sign e authorized. Motion carried moved that Constable Knowles stated that, at present, he is unable to scort any prisoners through the Municipal District and must, when necessary, call the R C.M P for this duty And sometimes this creates a hardship to him He stated hat the Magistrate had suggested to him that he obtain L special appointment from the Municipal District which will allow him to do this work. He further stated that he dic not expect any compensation from this appoint- ment nor d any policing work for the District Mr Church moved that Council approve and appoint Constable Knowles as Special Constable for jurisdiction to Carried J prisoners through the Municipal District Motion Cons able Knowles then thanked Council and left the meeting. V CONST. KNOWLES Mr. Tom Ferguson moved that employees be paid their SAFE DR. bonus for accident free driving on the month following when ✓ BONUS they become eligible to receive it Motion carried. Mr Dobler reported that the windshield in one of WIND - the gravel trucks to be traded is very badly cracked and SHIELD should be changed He asked Council's direction Council agreed that this windshield was hampering the vision of the driver and thus creating a hazard and should be changed at this tarn Mr. Dobler also asked Council what their wishes were in regard to the power take -offs and whether or POWER not they should be taken off the two Ford trucks which are to be traded. It was noted that these power take -offs could TAKE - not be used n any of the new trucks and thus would be two OFFS spares on hand. Council agreed that Mr. Dobler should neg- otiate a price with Highway Motors Ltd. if these power take- offs are left on the trucks to be traded. Hart, Stenographer as Clerk of the Tax Sale Mr, anson first offerred Lot 5, `lock 2, Plan 5050 A K Swalwell or sale with a reserve price of $150.00 He called for bids Tn this property three times, but no bids were received The second property offerred for sale were Lots 16 to 1$, Block 5, Flan 5050 A.K. Swalwell with a reserve price of $300, He called for bids three times on this property but no bids were received.
