New rates - Sin le- 5 00 per month, married -$10 00 per month, married & fa ily -13.32 per month. Mr Pet rs moved that this be tabled and referred to the employee,commi.ttee later Carried ANNUAL MEETING March 4th V F Neufeld new M S I rates Mr G King, as Welfare Officer, gave Council a brief G King report in regard to the following Welfare 1 John Czek and family - granted $20 00 emergency report assistance and it is hoped that no other help will be needed Czek Mr. Czek agreed to repay the $20 00 when he starts working. Mr. Campbell moved adoption of this report Carried. 2 Fournier family - Mrs. Fournier had written asking Fournier assistance for a one time allowance of $75 00 for clothing and $50.00 for groceries. She had further advised that Mr. Fournier was not willing to complete any regular welfare Kforms nor make any special application A letter from the Provincial D partment of Public Welfare advised that the Provincial and Federal Governments will not participate for the usual $0 grant unless the forms are completed Dis- cussion followed Mr Loosmore moved that this Council grant the request of the Fournier family for total assist- ance of $60.00 for clothing and that this be through Robinson store in Three Hills and $40 00 groceries through Penner Grcceteria without an official application, and that this shall not se any precedent Carried Mr. Arn6ld Boese of Linden Contractors met with Council Linden and stated that the crusher owned by them requires consider- Contractors able work and they propose t-, repair rollers,etc and that this will take about three weeks starting at the lst of January He advised that they have 2 days more work in the I'--.D. of Star and if the weather warms up, otherwise they will be mcvi g the machine to Three Hills for the repairs soon. Discu Sion followed as to the effect of allowing the time for the repair work in connection with winter works,etc It was noted there are between 11,000 and 12,000 cu.yds now In the Munic pal stockpile in the NE- 16- 32 -26 -4, and this might be hau ed to other needed locations in early January Mr Peters m ved that Council voice no objection to Linden Contractors taking time for the repair work in January. A lett r from the M.D. of Starland thanked Council for Starland co-operatiom and assistance in regard to allowing our Assessor, re Mr. George Fark, to assist that M D in Hearings before the assessment Alberta Ass ssment Appeal Board,etc The M.D. of Starland has repaid his District $385.00 covering the wages of Mr Park for th time spent there Mr. Loosmore moved that this br accepted and filed. Carried A circ lar from Emergancy Measures - Civil Defence - E M.O. advised that the Alberta Conference will be held in Red f that Conf Feb 8,9/ Deer on February 8th and 9th /6$ Mr. Loosmore moved R W Brown Attend Carried. A furt er letter was read from Canadian Utilities Ltd Can Ut in regard to their power line W/NW- 33- 31 -23 -4 on the road line - to the Mobil Oil Gas Plant. This stated that their surveyors Mobil Oil had checked the location about three times arld stated that the power 1 ne is 21 on private property. If they are in error, then the costs of moving the poles,etc. will be borne by Canadian Utilities Ltd Council directed that the motion of a previous meeting be proceedel with in respect to having Mr. R 0 Keglowitsch, A L S checc the location of these power poles. A lett r from the Hon Gordon Taylor advised that he Hon G could atteni a meeting here of local governing officials on Taylor Monday, Jan ary 15th from 2 00 p.m. to 4 00 p m The Sec - meeting Treasurer a vised that he had talked by phone to Mr. Ray Jan. 15th Ratzlaff,M .A and he had also stated that he would be available a that time Mr. Church moved that a meeting be V/1 set up of 1 cal governing officials for 1 30 P.M on Monday, January 15t and that others be given due notice Carried. CounciL was advised that Mr Ray Ratzlaff, M L A had Rec phoned in r spect to a Recreation meeting which is to be meeting held in Thr e Hills on Saturday evening, January 13th Hon Jan. Robert Clar e, Minister of Youth, and other Departmental 13th officials are expected to attend Mr. Donald Dau advised that the Three Hills Recreation Board is interested in having a co bined Board with Members of the Municipal Dist- rict partic'pating It is expected that this type of thing will be dealt with at the meeting referred to Mr Schmelke moved that ouncil accept the invitation to attend the meeting on January 13th and that this be discussed further with Mr Ray Ratzlaff regarding the list of those to be invited, and that he be advised that the Council prefers an open meeting Carried i See Page 19 J [A • • FORM 149-P SPECIAL MU ICI L SU PLI A letter from Street Robbins Morrow Company Ltd in- S.R.M. vited Counc 1 to name two delegates to be guests of that - Peoria Company and Caterpillar Equipment for a trip to Peoria, from Feb 4th to Ith Mr. Brown moved that Mr Stan Schmelke and Mr Thomas k Ferguson be named to attend as the delegates with Mr Tei Paquette as alternate in regard to the invitation from Street Robbins Morrow Co Ltd as referred to above. Carried There Ls no written confirmation of this on file but Mr Cliff Showe s, salesman for S R M had been at the office a few days igo and had advised that the Company had sold its Alberta int rests to R. Angus Ltd This does not affect the invitation o Peoria, referred to in the previous paragraph Application for work as submitted by Mr Roger ERickson was read to Council. The Sec -Treas advised that he had just mailed a copy of the Local Road Study to Mr Ratzlaff for his consideration The Se . -Treas advised that the Council or Planning Rockyview Commission Df the M.D. of Rockyview is meeting on Dec 28th zoning to discuss Ln detailzoning plans for their area He suggested that it mig t be of advantage if Mr Cliff Poole could attend to get general information which would be usefi.l for this District Mr Peters moved that arrangements be made for Mr. Cliff P ole to attend the meeting of the M D of Rocky- view on Dec 28th if this is agreeable to Rockyview. Carried A lett r from the Town of Three Hills advised that their 3 Hills Council has appointed a Committee to meet with W. & T Downe and Downe and advise hem that no obstructions are to be placed on the SE- 1 -32 -24 south 669 o their site to the west of the C N R in the SE- 1-32-24-4 This was in reply to our Council's request Mr , Peters movei that this information be accepted and filed. Carried A letter from Sun Life Assurance Co was read which Sun Life advised that the coverage for Life Insurance for the hourly men could be put in a higher bracket upon request It also gave certai information in regard to the of rates if the average age of the group stays the same Mr Church moved that this be tabled and referred to the next meeting of the empl yee- employer committee Carried Mr Lo smore moved that the tool allowance of $75 00 tool each be now paid for the year 1967 to Ted Paquette, Allen allowance Koch, Joe D bler and A.R. Sommerville Carried CounciL was advised that Mr Denver Eitzen had inquired D.Eitzen about the p ssibility of buying a used gravel truck if this gravel District ha3 one for sale. Mr Peters moved that this be truck filed, but that Denver Eitzen be advised when any decision is made abo t sale of gravel trucks Carried.
