Mr Don Dau, representative of the Three Hills School Division, was present for a portion of this meeting Correspondence and reports were read to Council in regard to Insurance Claims with reference to the following 1 Some confusion through Jubilee Insurance as to which Insurance Company was responsible this time for Municipal liability insurance 2 Claim of Mr Don Pattison for car damage 3. Claim of Husky Oil for car damage due to hitting a rock 4 Brief report regarding accident of John Esau with Motor grad Er with Dave Regehr with his car with Mr & Mrs Dick Esau as passengers The Sec -Treas advised that it waE likely that responsibility would be denied in respect to all insurance claims which have been re- ceived Jubilee Insurance Co is to be advised of the name of the Insuring Company Mr Peters moved that this information be accepted and filed Carried. A lett. er from Ferguson and Ferguson was read asking if this District will now release a Caveat filed against the NE-24-11-23-4 The Sec - Treas. advised that this Caveat was to protect the Municipal District's interest for assist nce granted to the late John Robinson Sr The amounts owing without any interest were given as - Municipal District share - $1,416.21 and Government share $13634 80 A letter of December 20, 1960 from the Provincial Department of Public Welfare advised that it was not the intention of their Department to attempt to reclaim the, payments on behalf of Mr Robinson The Sec -Treas advised that he had recently talked by phone to this Department and they had advised that it was optional as to whether or not the Government's share be collected Mr Loosmore moved that Ferguson and Ferguson be advised that the Municipal District has an interest in the NE- 24- 31 -23 -4 for Welfare Assistance in the amount of $1,416 21, and that, upon receipt of this amount, th Caveat can then be released. Brief information was given to Council in regard to the Winter Works program which will be in effect from Winter works Nov 1st tc March 31st It was noted that this is one month less time than last year. It was agreed that this be tabled for the present. He asked the opportunity of submitting a proposal and price quotation to the Shop Committee or to the whole Council. This was agreed and ie then left the meeting. Mr Fred Wilmots and Lyle Lindsay of Prestige Builders and Armco Products met with Council in regard to their quotation. Considerable discussion followed and it was agreed that details would still have to be worked out hrough a Committee. Details are on record. They thanks Council and then left the meeting New Shop Building H Heidel s, Prestige Builders Mr Ja k Longstaffe of Germain Construction then Germain met with Co ncil and outlined terms,etc regarding the Constr Butler Building. Details were discussed with him and ordered kept on file. Mr Longstaffe thanked Council and then left the meeting Both Companies that met with Council stated that they could start work very soon after being given a Contract and that the material would be ready within four to six weeks Capital expenditures in 1967 were reviewed briefly and it was noted that $170,000. had been provided for and that $158,000 of this has been spent, leaving a balance of about $12,000 The Shop Committee had seen a number of buildings put up by Germain Construction and had been impressed with the quality of the const- ruction 7hey had seen some other buildings of Armco but had not actually seen any erected by Prestige Builders, Eo could give no definite information as to the actual construction of this Company. The fallowing differences in bids were noted Germain quoted 614 cement floor, Germain 26 gauge metal, Prestige Germain - 104 cement pad on the Prestige - 124 cement pad The p ices as quoted showed that would be a proximately X6,000. higher Prestige - 5" floor - 24 gauge metal south of the building, Germain Construction in total. Carried The Se - Treas. advised Council that final payment Mun Assist, of the 1967 Municipal Assistance Grant had been received grant in the amount of$65,196 50 This information was ordered filed A letter from the Village of Acme was read in regard Rural to fire protection and it stated that the Village of Acme Fire Pr does not wish to be included in tre rural fire protection Linden - scheme as proposed but wished instead to have an agreement Acme whereby the Acme fire brigade would serve the Linden area when needed for a fee, and the Linden fire brigade would serve the Acme area when needed for a fee. Wednesday afternoon was spent on practical uses of newer chemicals by members of the chemical trade and rated as excellent. Banquet speaker was John W.
