Mr. Poole moved 3rd Reading to this by -law area ncil directed that the terms and conditions of 564, as referred to above be advertised in the Is Capital and that ratepayers of the area con- v given an opportunity to present a petition de- vote if they so desire See Page 3 FORM 1 P SPECIAL 1 MUNICIP SUPPLIES LTD �� Fi C N COUNCIL MEETING Sept 11/67 Page 3 A letter from the Department of Industry asked Wood- Council's opinion about the establishment of a business working by Mr & Mrs Cornelius B Penner in Parcel B in Pt business- NW-19-30-25-4 The proposed business is a woodworking Penner and sale f tools Mr Loosmore moved that the Sec - Treas ge more details and refer this to the local Municipal Planning Commission Carried Mr Don MacDonald met with Council regarding a road Don inlet to lis dwellings in the NE- 1- 31 -26 -4 and outlined MacDonald to Council that this lack of a road is affecting his access rd employment as a bus driver and also will affect bus service when his child starts to school He stated complaints had been riade to the School Trustee regarding snowplowing in the wi ter but he claimed he left his bus at Sunny - slope wherever the roads were bad. His only access now is one mile cf road west of 12- 31 -26 -4 and then he must travel approxlma ely 3/4 mile across fields He stated that he ✓ had talkec to Claude Wiebe regarding an inlet through the SE-1-31-2(-4 He further stated he is prepared to pay reasonable costs but needs some estimate and some assistance in working out an agreement Di cusslon followed regarding the location of the bridge ea t of 1, and other factors Mr Peters moved that the road committee and Mr Ralph Brown investigate with authority to deal with Mr Claude Wiebe and Mr Don MacDonald and to report back to the next meeting of Council, and further that Municipal District equipment be charged for at regular rates if used Carried Co ncil was shown a letter from Alberta Government A G T Telephones and a map of the buried cable in the Acme v burled District Mr Poole moved that these be accepted and filed cable - Carried Acme A etter from the Department of Agriculture outlined the detai s of a Fieldmen7s Conference to be held at Banff, Ag Fld- October 24 to 26th. Page 5 Enumerators ThE Alberta Farm Purchase Board had sent a summary Alta Fm of Provincial applications whicr had been approved during Pur Bd v recent years and this was reviewed briefly Mr Poole moved that this be filed Carried ThE Secretary- Treasurer advised that Sun Life Assurance is willing to provide Group Life Coverage of $3,000 f r Councillors,except that those over 70 would not recei e any coverage and after ale 65, the coverage would be /2 of the above A letter is expected soon out- lining fu ther details No definite action was taken on this A letter from Jubilee Insurance was read in regard to Councillor's accident Insurance. This outlined various amounts o coverage and rates and also outlined a proposal to give 2 hr coverage instead of coverage while on Council b siness The Policy which would provide $25,000 accidental death and dismemberment, $100 00 weekly in- demnity and $1,000 blanket medical would cost $12 50 per Councillor or Secretary,zwhile on Council business, but for 2 hour coverage would cost $44 00 each. Mr Peters mo ed that Council approve of the Policy for the coverage s noted above on the 24 hour basis with the Municipal District to pay the $12 50 and the individuals concerned to pay the difference to bring the rate up to the $44 0 for 24 hr coverage, and that inquiry be made for cover ge of those over age 65 and /or over age 70 Carried I-P SPECIAL SUPPLIES LTD. Another general circular from Jubilee Insurance was read in regard to Fire Insurance and it was noted that they are now in a position to deal with non Board Companies and may be able to obtain lower rates. Pir Peters moved that this be filed until such time as our Policy is coming up for renewal Carried. Reeve Brown advised him that it is unlikely Council will crake any deal for a new loader in 1967 After other general discussion, Mr Cliff Showers thanked Council and then left the meeting. Mr Joe Dobler advised that they have a minor break- down with the Trojan loader now but will have it going again soon He discussed the need for new tires for this loader Mr Loosmore moved that 4 new tires be ordered for the Tr fan loader immediately and that Nor. Co respondence from Canada Life Assurance Cc Canada was read 110 Council in regard to the necessary amendments Life - to the Group Life Insurance Policy owing to changes in the amendments Provincial legislation Mr Church moved that Council approve of the Amendment No A P B A to Policy No P3104 and all r lated documents and that Mr G.G King, Sec -Trews be authorized to sign same on behalf of the said Municipal District Carried Mr Church reported that Steve Goacher had quit on S Goacher the Labor Day weekday to take up some other work He had given no notice of leaving but had asked about leave of absence in case he wished to return at some future date This was briefly Mr. Campbell moved that the resignati n of Steve Goacher be accepted but that no leave of absenci, be granted. Law, Engineer of the Departme t of A „riculture, was read in regard to the G Law re erosion et the Hartly Hay land near the S6 corner of H Hay - 19-29-23-4 Various methods of dealing with the problem erosion were suggested in this letter. Pair Loosmore moved that this be tabled until September 25th and that a copy of Mr. Law's letter be given to Mr. Cliff Poole and to Mr. Hartley Fay Carried C uncillors were asked for a list of locations 1968 where bridges or culverts would be required for 1968 and the follcwing were tentatively listed bridges & culverts 1 North of Kostroskyps (South of former Simcoe school ) 2.
