Plant Mr Peters moved that Council authorize Mr. Gordon motor for Park to pjrchase a new motor for the small sprayer for ) Sprayer Service Board use. Carried. Mr. Loosmore moved that a letter be written to Premier Alta Fm. Manning asking if the Provincial Government can make money Pur.Bd. available for the Alberta Farm Purchase Board by Order- in-Council Carried Mr eters moved that a letter be written to the Comm. Randy Giec Mr Doug Hazelton of Linden Contractors and Mr. Joe D.Hazelton Dopler, g avel foreman, then met with Council. loss J.Dobler Mr lazelton advised that they have been crushing at Knudsen's but are shut down today due to a bad rip in the conve or belt They have stockpiled approximately 12,300 cu yds and he estimated about three days more Their plar is to next go to Walter Tetz and from there to Tom Lo en's. Mr Joe Dobler advised that they have been working from Elvz 's stockpile but that Ted Paquette had asked that they move to Donaldson's to clear the stockpile out of the way of the road grading program It was agreed that this should be done right away Mr. Dobler asked about taking one more week's holidays J Dobler during harvest time He has had two weeks holiday this holidays summer and has workod for the M D for about 13 years, and he stated that sufficient men are available now to keep the crew erating Mr Poole moved that Council approve of the 3r week of holidays as requested Carried Mr Dobler reported on the accident with our trucks truck at the Pal. son stockpile on August 14th when Dwayne Smith accident backed into Randy Gieck's truck The hood and part of the grill had been damaged, the estimated repair cost is $215. See Page 18 /IV J/ CODUOIL MEETING Aug 28/67 Page 17 Mr Dobler advised that Randy Gieck has requested Randy Gieck leave of absence to return to University. Mr. Church moved that Randy Gieck be granted leave of absence as from September 23rd next- Carried. Mr Joe Dobler then left the meeting , Mr lalph Brown and Dunc Peters reported on their report discussioa with Allen Koch in regard to his own work and re his deali g with the other road employees The main A Koch criticism is that he seems unable to say a good word for any workm n and has a bad attitude toward fellow employees. General a rangement- of the road crew was discussed briefly Mr. Peters then moved that this be tabled until Ted Paque to is at the meeting later in the day Carried. Some further general discussion followed in regard to v the emplo ees of the District, but no motions were made. Mr. Dunc Peters and others briefed Council on the — Three fire in the Town of Three Hills this past Saturday after- Halls noon when two buildings were badly gutted Complaints fire have been voiced over the fact that most of the trained town volunteers appeared to be out of town at the time of the alarm and there had been delay in getting equip- ment into operation. No definite action was taken on this. Diamond Jubilee - The Secretary- Treasurer advised Diamond that he had discussed this with Mrs. Gore of Swalwell and Jubilee they hope to have the information submitted This was ordered filed Mr- Brown gave a brief verbal report in regard to the Rural Linden - Acme proposed rural fire protection area He had Fire - attended a meeting at Acme and it appeared that the Acme tl area - Vi -Ilage and the rural area adjacent to it are opposed to Linden -Acme co-operation with Linden for rural fire protection at this time, but o definite decision has been made Counc 1 00 P M -Counc 1966 -67 ha Mr Peters Carried. 1 adjourned for dinner at 12 00 noon until Dinner 1 was advised that the Winter Works payment for W W been received in the amount of $31,776 54 'payment moved that this be accepted and the letter filed. Mr Ted Paquette advised that they should finish the Donaldso -Riep job by the middle of next week and then would be moving to the south area Some work would be done in Div 5 as they move through that area, and they would then head for the east end of the Pope lease Mr Loosmore mentioned there was some question of the amount of pay for the Wagner operators that are helping stockpile gravel at Lowen's as their hours of work are Hifferant than that of the actual road crew. Other Euclid operators are Ken Esau and Robert Cranston, but Ken Esau will be leaving fairly soon to go back to school There is a shortage of experienced men but he has enough men with the road crew otherwise.
