Brown present. In the absence of the Dunc Peters, Deputy Reeve acted as Chairman ;ing. Reeve Brown is on holiday. Mr. G G King, Secretary - .Treasurer, was present and recorded the minutes. Mr. Don Dau, representative of the Three Hills School Division,was present during the afternoon Mr. C. C. Campbell reported that he had not yet in- Madu- spected t e old building in Huxley which Mr. Madu had in- Huxley quired ab ut purchasing. He would see to this fairly soon. Mr. Du c Peters and R. Loosmore reported that they had P F R A. contacted Mr. Wilfred Evans and Mr. Russell Snell in regard re Snell to dams p eposed by P.F.R.A. on the Three Hills Creek. & Evans Mr. Wi.lfr d Evans was opposed to any dam in Sec.27- 31 -24 -4 dams as he claimed that there was not enough drop of creek level to Irevent flooding around his buildings. He had stated th re was only about a 9 foot drop from the Three Hills west road down to Burns'. Mr. Russell Snell had agreed th t a good dam would be of advantage and is feasible, butth e best location might be slightly east of where he ives. Mr. Peters moved that a reply be sent to P.F.R. . recommending no dam in Sec.27- 31 -24 -4 due to flooding anger, but that they be asked to make a detailed study regarding other possible locations in the Russell Snell area Carriedo Mr. G. Council in regard to proposed extensions of the under- Govt ground telephone system in the Trochu area Mr. Campbell v Tele moved that Council approve of the extensions as per the - Trochu maps submitted. This suggested P Welfare that the Municipal Districts should purchase agreements re under that Planforall Welfare recipients, but the recipients Health themselves would have to sign the applications and supply Plan information It was noted that it would be very difficult to determine who might be on welfare in the future and information was also lacking as to whether or not the present policy of reimbursment from the Department for welfare costs is to be abandoned Mr. Loosmore moved that the Secretary write for more details in these regards. The Se retary- Treasurer advised Council that a requisition requis, from Troc u Pontmain School District had been received at Trochu a late da -le and had been higher than their representative Pont. had previ usly informed us. It requires 10 8 mills tax S.D, levy to r ise the requisition of $1,002 00 instead of the 8 mills supplementary which was set previously. He stated they had finally got a good supply of oil fo the paving project but estimated the whole project w uld take about another month. It was agreed that Mr Joe Dobler and Ted Paquette work out the m tter of employee replacements during holiday periods. Mr Paquette had advised that opinion was divided i regard to the road grading crew. Some added information was given by Mr. Lo smore and Mr Schmelke, Members of that Board and discussion then followed It app oared that, if the projects were proceeded with soon, it would be at tax payer's expense for the initial costs but the amount might be recovered if the operation of the Nursing Homes showed a profit No definite in- formation was available as to whether or not ratepa,,� approval ould have to be obtained. Mr Doug azelton thanked Council and then left the meeting Mr. R. 0 Keglowitsch, P Eng met with Council with R.Keglow- regard to the paving project He stated that they had itsch put on about 14,000 gallons of oil today and they further - paving had mixed some at the pit for use in driveways. He es- c timated about 130 cu.yds of mix on hand for this purpose. The gradi g is almost complete except for one rile on the project Mr. Pe ers asked about the possibility of doing the mile east from Allingham and it was agreed that we check v the costs and the previous motion in this regard before making any definite decision. The mi er bought from Goetts at Calgary is working well, and other work is progressing favorably. Mr R. Keglowits h then left the meeting.
