Mr Paul Oaubin and Mr Jim Bishop then left the meeting
Council's policies for 1967 for land purchases for road
widening and payments for fences concerned was then dis-
cussed Mr Peters moved that, where no severance occurs
the payments for the land be at 5 times the assessment of
the area concerned, and that fences be paid for up to a
maximum of $300 per mile depending on condition if the
farmer removes and does his own work, provides material,etc.

A letter from the C.N.R advised that 5 road crossings
are to be raised about 6fe,,Lthe locations being from Sec.21-
30 -24 to Sec 21-29-24-4 There were also about 10 farm and
private crossings which might require building up at the
same time. They asked if this Municipal District would
undertake the work on a rental of equipment basis and what
the rates would be This was discussed by Council. Mr.
Poole moved that the C N R be advised that Council would
prefer that they contact local contractors and make
private arran ements for the work concerned. Carried.
Mr. Browr, advised that Superintendent of the C N R.
had complaine about some snowplowing work at railway
crossings in the Twining area This complaint has been
referred to Mi Ted Paquette, Superintendent, and was to

Mr. Schme ke suggested that some report should be

Council's direction Mr Campbell moved that Council
approve of this proposed subdivision plan Carried
The offer of Mr. R.E. Vetter for property known as
the Davidson ou%;ein Sunnyslope was again referred to
Council This offer had been $700 for the building only.
Mr George Park advised that he had inspected this house
recently. It is now occupied by Mr Wm Dyck and son and
is in reasonably good condition He suggested that it
certainly should not sell for less than X1200. Mr. Peters
moved that Council set a minimum price of $1200 on this
property and hat Mr Vetter be so advised Carried
Mr. Dickey of the Canadian Mental Health Association
met with Council and requested a grant to that Association
to carry on its work He advised that some $2,000,000. to
$3,000,000. iE being spent on this work in Canada yearly
for treating mentally ill patients but that the wrong
approach is being taken to the problem One family in four
has mental illness but they wait until the sickness happens
until anything is done. He felt that they should co-
ordinate knowledge of mental illness and organizations are
working on pr grams for this. He asked that Council give
a grant equal to 3¢ per capita to promote the program
to help speed up treatment,etc He felt that Research
and Education would prevent most mental illness. Brief
discussion f4 lowed with Mr. Dickey and he then thanked
Council and t en left the meeting.

TAX SALE
Monday, March 20, 1967
The Tax 3ale was held at the office of the Municipal
District of Hneehill No 48 in Three Hills on Monday,
March 20th, 1967 commencing at 2 00 P M Mr H J Hanson
acted as Auctioneer and Mr G G King, Municipal Sec -Treas
as Clerk of the Sale
First of erred at Tax Sale were Lots 6, 7, & $, Blk.2
Plan 5050 AK Swalwell Mr Hanson advised that this
included the property commonly known as the Swalwell Hotel
together with the small garage on it and the three Lots.
He also advi ed that the reserve bid is $300 He called
for bids on his property three times and no bids were
received.
Second property offered was Lot 10, Blk. 2, Plan
5050 AK, Swalwell Mr. Hanson advised that this is a vacant
Lot at the n rthwest corner of Blk.2 in Swalwell and that
the reserve bid is $10 00 Mr. Hanson called for bids
three times but no bids were received
Those present during the Tax Sale were the six
Councillors of the Municipal District, the office staff, &
Mr Frank Paget of Swalwell Mr Hanson declared the
Sale close at, 2,05 p.m
