See Page 21 COUNCIL MEETING Feb 27/67 Page 21 The minutes of the Shop and Safety Committee meeting of Feb 2567 were then read to Council and appropriate items dealt with 11r. Peters moved 1st Reading to by -law No-543, this being a by-law to rescind by -law No 534 passed earlier this year in regard to gravel trucks and to substitute this by -law o provide for the purchase from Highway Motors Ltd, f Three Hills as per the following One new F700 truck complete with chassis, cab, gravel box and hoist at a cash price of $8428 04 less Sales Tax of $516 00 for a net cash price of $5,912.00 One new FJ00 truck, chassis & cab only at a net cash price of $5, 91.70 Two new F700 trucks, chassis & cab only at a cash Price of $10,583 40, less trade -ins of two International gravel trucks units No. T -12 and 13, at an allowance of $3,464.60 for a net cash difference of $7,118 80 minutes Shop Coru:i by -law #543 gravel trucks Total pri e for four units, less the two trades - $185322.54. COUNCIL MEETING Feb 27/67 Page 22 Mr Poole reported that the Calgary Regional Planning C R P.C. Mr Cliff Poole moved that the minutes of the Shop Committee, n t otherwise dealt with previously be now adopted zxd 'n principle. Carried. Mr. Cliff Showers of Street Robbins Morrow met with Council and gave quotations of certain equipment which his Company as available. A D1415 di sel used with new hyster 5 row tamping wheels was quoted at $18,000 and a trade in allowance for the Curtis aright DIT10 scraper was quoted at $3500. for a net balance of $14,500 00 Prices we0e alsc given on other equipment. Mr. Loosmo e moved that the Shop Committee report to Council on 14a ch 13th regarding a loader on tracks either used or new ;Carried. Loosmore moved that the said Assoc re Solicitors be advised that Council investigated and F.J.Art found no dams e and admit no responsibility, and also that this be ireferred to the Insurance Company. Carried. Mr Schmel e moved that the Bridge Branch be asked to inspect the c lvert at the farm of Mr F J Art, W /NW- 26-32-27-4 and that they gave a report to this Municipal District only. J Loewen Mr. Ralph Erown advised that he had been talking to Home Mr Dan Peters, District Agriculturist, and that Mr Econ. Peters had ju t received a letter stating that it is very likely t at a District Home Economist will be located at Three Hill , and that one should be appointed quite soon A circular from the A A M D. was read referring to the 60th Anniversary of that Association and with the suggest - ion that a Bock be compiled with the history of the area. All Districts are asked to prepare such a record for their own area and then submit same to the A A M D. for inclusion in its volume Mr. Loosmore moved that this District support the idea of compiling a history of early Municipal life in the District Carried Discussion followed as to procedure that might best be followed in c mpiling the local history, who might be contacted in this regard, where information is available, and who might take charge of it 14r. G G King suggested that Miss Mable Morgan of Three Hills might be a suitable person to head this work if Council so wished, but it had not been discussed with her in any manner, Mr. Peters then moved that Mr Gordon Icing contact Miss Mable Mogan in this connection, and ftt he report back to a tat r meeting. A letter from the Manager of the Royal Bank of Canada, Three Hills, was read in regard to interest rates on short terra deposits The minimum amount is $25,000 and the rates vary from 4 7/8% to 5 1/8% depending on time Mr. Brown moved t at this information be filed until next Council meet. g Carried A A 14 D 60th Ann. The a were ordered filed Mr. Poole reported that the Calgary Regional Planning Commission had tabled for one week its decision in regard to the proposals of Mr. Albrecht to divide three quarters of Sec 1- 33 -25 -4 into 80 acre parcels One reason for the deferral was that the 14 D. of Rockyview and Foothills each required that the first subdivision of a quarter be developed before any other can be undertaken Mr. Campbell moved that a letter be sent to the Calgary Regional Planning Comnission, stating that Council supports the application cf Mr Albrecht, that no actual development is planned as t e land will continue to be used as farm land, and there is only one subdivision for each quarter which is not deemed[ serious Carried Mr. Schme ke moved that Council next meet at 9.00 A.M. on Monday, March 6th, 1967.
