Mr A H Church moved that the Shop Committee investigate the extra c rge for custom cabs with. authority to purchase if deemed a isable Carried Mr. RA. Brown moved 1st Reading to By -Law. No. 534 By -Law this being a by -law to buy 4 new F -700 gravel trucks, chassis #534 & cab, with 3 gravel trucks being traded, Units T -12,13 & 20, gravel net difference, including Sales Tax of $15,500.00. Carried trucks 5 - 2. 5 2 Mr Sc elke moved 2nd Reading to this by -law Carried - Mr. Poole moved that 3rd Reading to this by -law be given at this meeting Carried 6 - 1 3rd Reading could not be given to this by -law as the vote on the above motion was not unanimous. .Mr. Peters moved that the next meeting of Council be Next held on Saturday, January 21st at 9 00 A M. and that the Meeting Committee of the roadmen meet with Council at 1.30 p m on that date. COUNCIL MEETING Jan 17/67 Page 22 The Committee asked what request the Kneehill Weather Ratepayers Modificatior Assoc had made of the Council. They were Protective advised that this Associ tion had asked that Council consider Assoc. holding a P ebescite in �ivi.sion 1,2,3 and 5 on a by -law to provide Weather Modification for this area. The Committee was also advised thatihe Association had stated that if the vote did not carry, the whole matter would be dr pped for 1967 - they would not endeavor to obtain volurtary contributions for a project. An lnf rural discussion followed with many questions being broug t up for discussion The Committee requested that when Council considers Weather Mod fication for 1967, the by -law and plebescite be for the whole Municipal District Also that the project be set up as ar experimental project and that the Research Council be trought in to work with the contractor to evaluate the success or failure of the experiment, in the event of a by -law being passed by the ratepayers The Committee also asked that the proposed contract be advertised along with the by -law prior to the plebescite being held. The Committee and Mr Dan Peters thanked Council for their attention and then left the meeting Council adj ned for lunch from 12 00 noon until 1.P.M. Mr Lo6smore moved that the bid brought in by Mr Grant Arbuckle be returned unopened as it did not arrive on the time specified as per our letter to tender. Carried Mr Doug Hazelton and Mr Arnold Boese of Linden Contractors Ltd. rpet briefly with Council regarding their gravel crushing contract. It was agreed without motion that they continue crushing as they are at the present at the Megli pit uitil the next Council meeting It was felt with two weeks o good weather, the crushing at the Megli pit would be co feted, this would not entirely clean up the corner of the pit as originally intended Mr Hazelton and Mr Boese then left the meeting Mr Paters moved 1st Reading to by -law No 536, this being a by-law to purchase a D7 diesel tractor, Series E, new, from Street Robbins Morrow Co Ltd at total price of $51,755.00, plus options as per their quote with the exception of the tool kit, totalling $1350., less trade of D8 -2U, Seri 1 No. 2U 8065, trade allowance of $6,350.00. and further that the D8 -13A, Serial No 13A 341 with bull dozer and cable control unit be sold to Mr. Leo Breitzke as per his cash offer of $8,600 00 Carried unan M.- R Loosmore moved 2nd Reading to this by -law.
