C. recently re- elected as Councillors, subscribed quired Oath of Office and these were ordered filed The Sec. - Treas. advised that the first business should bE.1 the election of a Reeve for the year 1967 Mr Campbell moved that Mr Ralph Brown be elected Reeve. Mr Loosmore moved that nominations cease Carried Mr. Ralph Brown was declared elected and he then took charge of this meeting He thanked Council for the confidence placed in him and asked for their suggestions at any time Mr Church nominated Mr Dunc Peters as Deputy - Reeve foi the period Jan 1/67 to June 30/67 Mr. Schm lke moved that nominations cease Carried Mr Pete is was declared elected Mr Peters moved that the minutes of the meeting of Dec. th, 9th, and 19th, 1966 be approved including the combined meeting with the Agricultural Service Board on Dec 9th /66, subject to the following correction Dec 19t /66 P 18 - first motion on that page was moved by Mr C urch instead of Mr Poole Carried Mr Loosmore moved that the banking business continue as in 19 (6 with the Bank of Montreal, Trochu, the Royal Bank and Provincial Treasury Branch in Three Hills, that signing authority for cheques, etc , be granted to the Reeve or Deputy Reeve together with the Sec -Treas or, in his a sence, Mr H J Hanson as Asst. Sec. - Treas., and that the Sec -Treas or Assistant Sec. -Treas have authorit3 to pick up cancelled cheques at the bank, sign ban statements, etc Carried OATHS OF OFFICE REEVE DEPUTY REEVE MINUTES APPROVED BANKING P Mr Poole moved that the annual meeting of the ANNUAL Municipal District be held at the Three Hills Community MEETING Centre or Monday, March 6th/67, commencing at 1 P.M. Sec. -Treas Mr. ianson met Council and discussed 1967 salary He then 1 ft while Council discussed same Mr Schme ke moved that the salary of Mr H J Hanson be set at $7,200. for 1967, this being an increase of $500 ver the 1966 salary. Carri(d Mr HansZ was advised and accepted with thanks Mr 0. G King then returned to the meeting and recorded the balance of these minutes. Mr. oosmore moved that Mrs Violet Hart's salary for 1967 De set at $4,500., an increase of $500 over the 1966 3alary Carried Mrs Hart met briefly with Council, uras advised of this motion, and accepted with than s. Mr. eorge Park, assessor, met Council and discussed his 1967 3alary. He advised that Govt assessors are paid app $7,500 and that the assessor of a smaller M D nea by was paid $6,300 for 1966 Mr. Peter moved that Mr. Geo Park be paid $6,700 galary fo 1967 and milea e at 12¢ mile (Iperease of $600 ver 1966 salary Carried. Coup it then discussed at considerable length the organization of the crews for road work and other related factors including planning the road program and makin land and fence deals further in advance, general o ganization and need for co- operation, and the quest'on of having one overall foreman or continuing with two -oad foremen as in the past, etc Mr. 3rown moved that both road crews remain "as Is" until April 1/67 overhhuling equipment, snowplowing, etc, then ante April lst /67 Mr Allen Koch be grade foreman in charge of the main grading crew and Mr T Paquette Ue puulic works superintendent in charge of all machinery, patrols, nd general organization of road work, and that Mr. oe Dobler continue in charge of the gravelling crew as p eviously Carried Coun it then discussed wages, etc. for T. Carried MEETING Memo Mr Brown had advised Council he would be at the meeting as a member of the Executive but preferred not to be a delegate from this District Disc ssion of the proposed Administration Act was tabled until Thursday Letter and maps from Great Plains Development Co GT PLAINS were brie ly referred to Council re their proposed road crossings for water injection lines Mr. Loosmore added PIPELINES that Comp ny representatives had been in touch him; he did not expect any difficulty re the crossings, but final arr ngements had not been made and the pipelines Might not be put in until spring Mr. Loosmore moved that Ot"bat Plains be sent a letter advising them of Council's policy of inspecting the crossing locations ✓ at the site with the local councillor and their representative, and with Council's decision to follow. Carried Census population figures and recent correspondence re 32-23-4, etc , were read to Council Mr Poole moved that this be accepted but that the Sec. -Tress CENSUS pursue the matter further as to the major changes. Carried. Mr Peters moved that Council authorize cancellation of uncolle tible Mobile Home Licences as per the following list. Dept. of Youth Agreed that this be filed but available for any councillor who may wish to read same. A etter from the Dept of Youth outlined some details re Recreation Grants which have been available RECREATION through the Dept of the Prov Secretary and it asked GRANTS for conuaents and suggestions. Mr Loosmore moved that the Dept of Youth be asked to make grants to rural Municip lities to be used for local recreation and /or to be u ed to assist Urban centres where the rural areas p rticipate Carried. Th dividend statement from the A. A. M. D. showed some de ails of the 1965 -66 dividend paid to this A.A.M.D. Distric in the amount of $3,000 41 Mr Poole moved . �, �,.ii;11D that this be accepted and the information filed. Carried Letter from the Village of Carbon advised that it does not wish to participate in a program for Preventive Welfare but might be interested in further meetings Mr. Loo more moved that this be filed. Notices from the Board of Transport Comm and the C. N. R. were read re the closing of the agencies and train order offices at Huxley and Swalwell and Trochu as well as other points not in this area Trochu will have a caretaker appointed to attend to certain duties Mr. Campbell moved that this information be accepted and filed Carried.
