G. King, Secretary - Treasurer, was present nr Munson throughout the meeting and recorded the minutes for all ferry the meeting except for the last portion dealing with the accounts. Mr Peters moved approval of the minutes of the Approval minutes meeting of October 11th and 24th,/66 and of the special meeting of Nov 2/66, all as per copies mailed t6 each Councillor. Carried Mr J e Dobler, gravel foreman, and Mr, Doug Hazelton J Dobler D.Hazelton of Linden Contractors then met with Council. Mr Hazelton r ported regarding gravel work and gave the following 1 El information in's - 1,134 cu.yds. hauled direct from the crusher, 2:420 cu.yds put into stockpile for a total of 3,554 cu y 2 Tolman s - 3,466 cu.yds hauled direct from the crusher, 10,750 cu.yds put into stockpile, and of this, 17149cu.yd was loaded with their loader and hauled with V/ our trucks while the crusher was broken down 179 cu.yds had also been put through. Total 14,395 cu yds. of private 3. Andrew's gravel pit in SE- 1- 31 -23 -4 - they started crushing ` there this past Saturday and the gravel appears good. 4 E1 in?s new location - gravel is being loaded from the river with their dragline and hauled with our Wagners and they estimate 8,000 to 9,000 cu yds now in the stockpile. Mr C urch reported that the Ralph Main road west R graverd. of 36-30-23-4 required some gravelling but he was up to his quota Mr Peters moved that Council grant up to V/ 200 cu.yds. for the Ralph Main road from the Andrews pit, Carried. King also advised that he had been appointed to a Committee to present a Brief to the Department of Municipal Affairs in regard to the Administ- ration of the Home Owner Discount Act. Foremen Mr. Allen Koch had with him his Certificate in A.Koch respect to Heavy Duty Mechanic with Inter - Provincial H D Mech. Seal which he had recently been granted Mr. Brown moved that Council record its vote of congratulations to Mr Allen Koch for satisfactorily completing this course Carried Mr. Allen Koch reported regarding progress at the Pope Lease culvert and stated that the gravel base has Pope now been p t in and about 1504 of culvert is left to be Lease assembled. They advised that the motor grader which had been in this District for a brief demonstration had been sold to the County of Mountain View and therefore had to be taken to that District. They stated that they would like to demonstrate a 660B with snowrlow and wing some time after the Fall Conventio . WCBd Carbon Shop COUNCIL MEETING Nov-7/66 Page 7 Mr. Churc4rried- Mr moved that this report be accepted and tabled. H J Hanson and Mr. Dunc Peters reported in regard to he Shop Committee and matters at Three Hills. They have ao quotes to date regarding foundations or moving the metal building and Vanier Building Sales are going o quote on a 601 extension to a metal building o a 601 new, but these quotes have not been received e ther. Mr. Hanson then again left the meetingg and the re ort was ordered filed. Correspondence in respect to the Road Study was read to Council together with a circular asking for certain information. Mr Loosmore moved that the circular be answered based on 1965 records as accurately as possible. Carried. Mr Brown moved that Council authorize the payment of the final $9,662.00 in respect to the Regional Road Study. Carried The request of Nick and Ola Waisman for improvements to the road from John Dickinson north, being W /NW -30 and W -31 in 33 -25 -4 was read to Council Council was further advised that a Waisman boy is now travelling this daily to go on a school bus but there is no definite bus route on it at present and there is no final information as to whether or not there will be a bus route in future,on though this seems probable. Mr Schmelke moved that Mr and Mrs. Waisman be advised t at this road will be considered for the 1967 grading p ogram Carried. Shop Comm. 3 Hills Rd. ✓ Study Waisman road It A letter from the C.P R asked that all our workmen c.p.r. exercise special maintenance care at railway crossings caution during thE freezing weather. Mr. Peters moved that this informati n be filed Carried Council was advised that the culvert at the foot of P.Rock the PhiliF Rock hill near the SW- 10- 31 -21 -4, is partly culvert plugged with silt 'his had been noticed by Mr H J Hanson recently when he was taking a picture of the rip rap a the culvert, but it may not be a serious matter. ;his should be checked. Council was advised that Lincoln Welding Ltd. wished Lincoln to have the use of our Three Hills and Carbon Shops for Welding a one evening demonstration of its Welding equipment, and TAT for a course which would be held one night per week for five weeks. The demonstration would be free but the price for the course would be $15.00 per person. This was discussed at some length. Mr. Poole moved that Lincoln Welding Ltd be advised that they should try to get other accomodation for the said course as this would be sponso ng a particular kind of welding equipment and might lead to later problems.
