meeting with the Cabinet was read by the Secretary - Treas. CABINET
and some additional information given. Representatives COMMITTEE
of the M. E. of Kneehill at that committee meeting were

report of the Municipal Brief and the reading of
the Acme Brief be both accepted and filed. Carried.
Mr Poole moved that a letter be written to the
Provincial Department of Highways with a copy to the
Hon Gordon Taylor and the Premier of Alberta commending d
them on the recent im p rovements to the Highway
south of Three Hills Carried
Corres ondence from the Alberta Federation of
Agriculture was read in respect to a Farm Labour
Seminar to be held at Red Deer on November 9th and 10th

and Mr cliff Poole be named as delegates to the said

this Council with the Councils of the Towns and Villages
of this District and with the representative of the

stated that Mr. John E. Frere had not obtained a permit
for an entry onto Highway No 21 south of Trochu and
that he has now been advised that he must remove that
entry and take his sileage out by some other access.

possible purchase of an old building on Lots of Mrs
McDougall in Huxley, being Lot No. 28 and 29, B1k.9,
the said property had been offered at Tax Sale in
1966 but h d not sold and so this District officially
could not ell same by private sale at this time Mr.
Campbell moved that this Council approve of the
purchaser buying the said building from Mrs McDougall
at Huxley on condition that the building be torn down
and the site cleaned up, and any revenue paid to this
District, the possible pride was stated as $1 00

A letter dated September 21st/66 from Magistrate

had been paid to this District in error. Mr Peters

The Secretary-Treasurer outlined to Council by-
law No 3$9 485, and 503 and also minutes on file of
this District of July 8th, 1966 and July 22, 1966 in
regard to the control of stubble burning It was
particularlt noted that the by -law as originally passed
did not specifically state that anyone who Wished to
burn stubble must first have a permit. Considerable
discussion followed in regard to this matter
Counci adjourned for dinner from 12 00 noon to
1 00 P M
Mr. R 0 Keglowitsch and Mr. Lloyd Davis,
Consulting Engineers , met with Council after the dinner
break in regard to the paving project. Correspondence
and reports were read and further information was added
by the Engineer. The results of all compaction and
otter test taken were quite satisfactory. y

project except for the approaches but that the fog
coat is still to be put on approximately 42 miles

Mr. Ralph Brown reported that he wanted to make REIMER

Coulee south of Linden be checked and improved while
the equipment and material is still available.

back to wort: in a day or so. He asked if Mr. Jack Tutt

holidays Mr Ralph Loosmore advised that Linden
Contractors had contacted him a few days ago and asked
authority to move to the M.D. of Starland for a week
to 10 days work there prior to doing the work at Elvin's
for this Di trict. He had given his personal permission

contrary to prior council motion
Mr T4 Paquette then also met with Council.
It was agreed that the gravel crew do additional
gravel work in Divisions 6,7 and 1 in that order. Mr
Rempel repo ted that all trucks are working well.

Federal De artment of National Revenue was read in LIABILITY

A map of the Road Study Report and the roads COLLECTOR
proposed by the Secretary - Treasurer and the Engineering ROADs
firm as collector roads was referred to Council and
discussed at considerable length A copy of the report
of the Secretary-Treasurer regarding this is enclosed
with these minutes. The Sec - Treas. advised that
either Item No.4 or No.12 on the list should be deleted
as the two roads are only two miles apart and as the
total is h gher than that proposed for the collector

Council, at its meeting of Sept 12th, authorized a
study and report of Collector Roads to a LII�a= of 124 miles,
with -h additional cost not to exceed $1500.
Mr Allan Hahn, of Stanley Associates Engineering,
came to our office on Sept. 21st and he and I drafted a
proposal of t'rie roads to be included in the study for the
Collect r Roads These are shown in brown on the map
Council is free to make any changes it desires in this regard,
bearing in mind the LIMIT of 124 miles
The aim of the Collector Roads is, as far as practical,
to get Everyone within a reasonable distance of a "colored" road,
and to zve access to main traffic arteries without too much
extra mileage.
