SWALWELL DAM v A letter from P.F.R. A was read in respect to the Carbon Community Dam and this listed certain improvements that they recommend Mr Poole moved that a letter be ✓ written to P.F.R.A asking if they will make the im- provements which they recommend at this dam Carried. The S cretary- Treasurer advised Council that Mr Albert Bec er had voiced some complaint about a party leaving hiE gate open at the Carbon Community Dam The Agreement iegarding the inlet was referred to briefly and it was noted that Council had the right to make an approach to the dam out this had not been dune very satisfactorily. Mr. Church moved that Mr Cliff Poole be appoint d to have a gate made which will be suitable for people only to enter to the Carbon Cij..___ity Dam Carried. Mr Arnold Boese of Linden Contractors met with Council and he advised that they are now stockpiling for the Department of Uighways in the Linden area and should be finished this about the end of August The need for some gravel crushing in the NVd- 19- 30 -25 -4 (Toews) for this District was discussed and it was also noted that we should get a new gravel lease in this regard. Mr Schmel e moved that Linden Contractors be authorized to crush a d stockpile 3,000 cu yds for the Municipal District at the location in NW- 19- 30 -25 -4 Carried. Mr Boese asked about having permission to go back to complete certain work for the M.D. of Starland when they complete the work at Linden No definite decision was made on this matter, but it was noted that considerab e work remains for the Municipal District and that t ere is some urgency, particularly in NW -10- 29 -22 -4. Mr. P ole moved that Mr Church be a committee to make neces ary decisions regarding the gravel, etc to be crushed and stockpiled at N'9- 10- 29 -22 -4 Carried Mr A nold Boese agreed to meet Mr. Church at that land locat on for a discussion of pertinant matters. Tentative reports for Prairie Farm Assistance as left in our office by a Federal Inspector were referred to very briefly, and it was agreed that detailed reports be made at our September meeting. Mr. Peters moved that Gordon Park be asked to bring in a report regarding the matter of this P.F.A. for the September 12th meeting. Carried Mr. C King, as Secretary- Treasurer, and Welfare Officer th n reported that he nad inspected the house adjacent to the Trochu Mines which was rented to Dr. A J S Ha and occupied by Mr. & Mrs Ray Scheunert and famil His written report was read which indicated that the basement was almost full of water and that he had discussed these matters with Mr Ray Scheunert who had verified that the wiring was very poor and that the house was in a general run down condition. All this was further to a previous report from the Drumheller Health Unit. WORK Mr. Peers moved that the south 'grading crew next do the mile of grading south of 26- 31 -26 -4 Carried. It was agreed that the road committee meet with Mr Allen Koch, foreman, and Mr R.O. Keglowitsch, Engineer, regarding tie above project and make a decision as to whether or iot to go west over the hill on the road allowance o to make a diversion. Furthe work outlined for the south crew included the ,fob at resswell, Jamieson, Railway crossing south of Acme, Lawrence ,job in Div 2, culvert 5 miles south of Three Hills and completion of the Pope Lease road It was agreed that the north crew finish the work as outlined in Div 6 then work in Div.4 at the Neumlller grading and government culvert and the Mt. Olive job, and !r also consider the Oelke job if it is needed for a bus route Brief reports were given to Council in matters BRIDGES concerning bridges and culverts in respect to ETC 1 Government Bridge crew has commenced work at the bridge at the foot of the Orkney hill Some additional levels were taken for this as they requested. 2 The Bridge crew will change the drainage adjacent to the Mor 'n Bridge as per details sent to the Bridge foreman 3�.
