Campbell Div-7 the meeting were (Reeve) G.G King, Secretary- Treasurer, was present it the meeting and recorded the minutes Donald 8au, representative of the Three Hills _vision, was present throughout most of the meeting later in these minutes Poole moved that the minutes of the meeting of Minutes and 22nd/66 be approved with one correction, at the word "fire" should be deleted from the in the minutes of July 22nd, Page 12, in respect nce tc be placed with Jubilee Insurance Agencies. rri ed Mr Doug Hazelton of Linden Contractors, met with Linden Council He advised that they have crushed and stockpiled Contractors approxim tely 7,000 cu yds at the Walter Tetz location in NE-34-34-25-4, and he estimated that another 7,CI0 to 10,000 c .yds mi ght be left in that location for crushing another time. Th ,8y have now moved to Linden and have about 20 000 cu.yds left to do for the Departs ent of Highways for Hwy.No.26, so will be busy there to approx- imately the end of August. In reply to a question, he stated that they have not made arrangements for a bull crusher or the t4ork at the Megli pit, but Pioneer Machinerr might have one available about the first of September He advised that their Hough payloader has been used for approximately 1200 hrs and they offer it for s le with a 2 cu yd. bucket for $16,000. cash Mr Church reported that he would nerd some crushing done soon from the Thorburn pit in NW- 10 -29- 22-4, and it way tentatively agreed that Linden Contractors might m ve there when they finish the work for the Depot. of Highw3.ys Mr. Doug Hazelton then left the meeting Mr Poole moved that business not completed at tAis "AUG MEET22 meeting nd any further business which comes in should be dealt with by Council on August 22nd. Th monthly Statement for the month ending July MONTHLY 3171966 as then presented and discussed as per copy STATEMENT with th se minutes. This showed a net balance at the end, of he month of $64,494.23, but with loans of $91,000 Mr. Peters moved that this be approved. Carried. The Secretary - Treasurer gave Council a report of TAX tax collections in 1965 and 1966 to August 6th Total COLLECTIONS in 1965 was $576,031 71 and in 1966 $330,870.05• He further showed Council that the bank loans as at Aug. LOANS 6th wer $2,000 Copy of the report is included with these mnutes. Mr Campbell moved the acceptance of the rep i rt. Carried. Co ncil discussed the approach recently made on to FRERE - # 21 Highway #2a- W/NW- 8- 33 -23 -4, this being on the side . ®f APPROACH the hill, just south of the Trochu Golf Club property It was 1,ointed out that this approach and the sileage pit adjacent to it appear to create a serious traffic hazards and might be the cause of an accident. Mr Campbell moved that the Secretary - Treasurer contact the District Engineer and object to this approach to the sileage pit from Hwy. -121 just south of Trochu on the side of the hill as per the above. Carried. Mr. Brown advised that he had contacted Hu Harries P B I. & Associates in respect to the presentation of a Brief BRIEF regarding the assessment and taxation of the Prairie Bible Institute. The estimated cost would be $300. to HU HARRIES $480. he majority of the Council members had been contact d prior to this meeting and had voiced approval of havi g the Brief presented, etc. by Hu Harries & Associates and a letter confirming this had been sent on Aug.2 /6 . Mr Church moved that the report be accepted and that Hu Harries & Associates be engaged for this work and that, a committee of Mr. Peters, Mr Loosmore, Mr Brown and Mr. King be named to discuss the Brief with representatives of Hu Harries & Associates Carried. Leiters were read under date of July 21st/66 from SCHOOL DIV, the Thr e Hills School Division in which they offerred to tran fer the following Lots to this Municipal Distric VACANT LOTS i Lots 1 - 5, Blk 9 Huxley and Lots 14,15, Blk 5 Swalwell Council was advised that these arc vacant lots and they apparently are not being used in any way by the School Divisioxi Mr Poole moved that Council agree to accept the above described Lots with the costs of the Transfering of same to be split between the Municipal District and the Thr e Hills School Division, on an equal basis. CERTIFICATION and attached resolution objected to a proposal ng the A T A. to control the certification of Mr. Donald Dau added some details in this Mr Loosmore moved that Council support the vision in this regard and that letters be sent me list as that named in the School Division July 20th. Carried. Council was advised that Mr H.L. Toews had inquired FISH regarding the possibility of getting the Kneehill creek stocked vrith fish. Mr Brown moved that a letter be V written to the Provincial Fish and Game Association asking f r information in this regard. Carried A 1 tter from the Mountain View - Kneehill Auxiliary Hospital District #13 advised that the term of Mr. S C AUXILIARY Schmelke as a member of its Board expire% at the end HOSPITAL ✓ MEMBER of October, 1966. Mr Poole moved that Mr. Schmelke be re-appointed to that Board for a further term of 2 years as from November 1, 1966 Carried. A 1 tter from Dr J A Creenway of Acme asked for # 26 HWY ceratin information in regard to the population and DR hi -LY cattle a d poultry figures in the Acme - Linden district, and also asked Council's support in a request for improvements to Hwy. #26 from Acme to Beiseker. Mr Peters moved that a reply be sent to Dr Greenway advising that Council supports the request for im- provements to the said road, and that he be referred to other sources including the Bureau of Statistics for factual nformation. A map of the Regional Road Study outlining the main proposals was shown to Council.
