A discussion followed the special blades that were to have been sent to this District from the A.A M D Mr Paquette agreed to check regarding the ones at Three Hills and Mr Church V to check regarding the ones at Carbon. Tests are to be made of these and reports brought back to Council. A letter of Mr. G. Kraft was read with particular reference to culverts at the SE- 29- 33 -26 -4. Mr. Schmelke reported that he would have these fixed in due cours Applications for work were read from Wayne Gummell a d George Berry. Mr Dobler then reported that Jim trauss has resigned from his position as a truck dri er and that he had hired Mr. Glen Brinson of Three Fills to start next Monday Mr Peters moved tha the report of Mr. Dobler be accepted and that the ther applications be filed. Carried The ecretary- Treasurer gave Council information from the Eridge Branch and from his personal investigation in respect to the following - 1. Bridge south of SW- 16- 31 -22 -4 - upstream channel needs to te straightened and the sides sloped by the M.D. The BridgE Branch is going to do some sloping and rip - rapping u der the Bridge Work is to be done this Fall and the Bridge Branch will give approximately one month notice of time Mr Loosmore moved that this report be accepted and that Council agree to do the necessary upstream ork. Carried. 2 C lvert for S/SW- 29- 29 -21 -4 - Mr. A.H. Church and Mr. Ernie Fox, Mr Bud Hope, Bridge Inspector, our Engineers and the Sec - Treasurer had met at the site on July 5th to discuss the location, etc in regard to the culvert Tentative arrangement is that the Bridge Branch will supply a culvert 54 in diameter approximately 2504 long and the road will be built on the road allow- ance Estimated delivery time is four to six weeks The report was ordered filed. 3 W MI- 7- 31 -23 -4 - 42 miles south of Three Hills - The BridgE Branch will supply one 60Y1 culvert, 724 long 4 B idge south of the SW- 2- 30 -25 -4 (East of Hainings) - is to b repaired by the Bridge Branch. The Council was asked what procedure was to be followed regarding the land purchased by this District to improve the approach into Mr. Skelton's property in the NE- 8- 33 -23 -4 The benefit to this District would be elimination of a bad snow hazard that had previously existed on the road. Considera le discussion took place regarding the ownership of the smell area concerned. Mr. Ralph Brown reported that he had investigated regarding a proposed natural gas line service to the farm of Mr. Connor in the SE- 25- 29 -26 -4 Both Mr Connor V and Canadian Western Natural Gas had stated that the project wi 1 not be proceeded with this year so no approval oF otherwise is required Mr. L osmore reported that he had looked at the location r garding Ken Leafs trees but the whole comm- ittee had iot been to the site so no decision had been made to da e Mr. L osmore reported that he had seen Mr. -Clarence Elvin rega ding gravel from the river in Sec 30- 32 -21 -4 Mr. Elvin aad stated he now had about 2500 cu yds in a stockpile ind might increase this to 3500 to 4000 cu yds They thoug t it best to use a dragline late this Fall v to get further gravel from the river if the water goes down. Leaf Elvin gravel A letter which Mrs. Allan Olmstead of the Sarcee Tars District, had written to Mr. Ralph Loosmore in respect to Olmstead the dust hazard was read to Council. Nothing further was done by Council as this had been dealt with at a previous Meeting. A need for Motor Grader tires was discussed with Mr. Grader Paquette Mr Peters then moved that this District order tires 4 tires 1300 x 24, 12 ply and for tubes to fit from the Alberta A sociation of Municipal Districts Carried. Mr `rown reported that Mr Bob Donkin of the Provincial Department of Water Resources had stated that he might te able to get a 50% grant for the channel diversion on the Cresswell farm in 5E- 16- 30 -25 -4 Mr. G. King r ported that he had talked with Mrs Cresswell by phone iegarding the proposed channel diversion and she had t ntatively agreed to same but wished to have some furt er information at the site when she would be in the Di trict. Mr. Joe Dobler reported all trucks are now working trucks satisfacto ily though he has found that it is slow gettipg some parts for the new Fords, for example , Motor for the Wipers. The new Fords have more power V and on the average, give slightly better gas mileage than the I ternationals� in his records. Spraying of weeds and a further reply to our letter of kugust 27, 1965 w s referred to the Board This stated that regulations respecting the use of pesticides under the Public Health Act were amended in some respects and made effective Lpril 1, 1966, whereby Commercial Pesticides applicators are being licensed by the Depot of Health and a program is underway to train and upgrade — pli.cators besides regulating their operations. It further stated that this matter is 5einE considered by various cormnittees including the Alberta Interdepartmental Committee on Pesticides, and at their recent meeting, the following motion was passed - 'that the Depart - ment of Health regulations respecting the use of Pesticides be amended to require that a detailed log be kept by Commercial aircraft applicators on pesticides used, rates and amounts applied, meteor - logical co ditions,etc and that this information be made available to local m nicipal authorities This matter was discussed by the Board at s me length Y,r P ttem moved that the Secretary write to the various commercial pesticide applicators asking what type ofliability insurance hey carry and if this insurance includes property damage that may b done to the party that hired theca, and any other innocent party whic may become involved.
