Carried Business connected with the Provincial Department of DEPQT Highways was then considered as follows OF 1. A letter read stating that a Contingency Road HIGHWAYS Grant of $75, 00 has been authorized for the Torrington Wimborne project. 2. A letter read stating that the Natural Resource Road Grant of $15,000 had been authorized for the new route of the Pope Lease Road,etc. 3. Notice from the Bridge Branch that the bridge at Sharples has been completed and is now this Districts responsibility. Mr Campbell moved that this be accepted and filed Carried. 4. Report on culverts was given together with letter of May 19th/ 66 from the Bridge Branch From these it was noted as follows (a) On the river flat on NW- 27- 29 -21 -4 - Bridge Bra ch will use salvage material and build a bridge at that location as requested by this District on condition that this District agrees to bear the cost. Mr. Loosmore moved that this District agree to pay for this bridge and that the Bridge Branch be so advised and asked to proceed with same. Carried (b) An arch culvert 7299 x 4449 with 71 fill will be supplied for west of Swalwell at the south of the SE/17--30-24-4 Mr Poole moved that this be accepted. Carried. (c) An arch culvert 72'9 x 44" for 52' fill at W /SW 27- 33 -25 -4 (Buchert- Schneider) will be supplied. Mr Schmelke moved that this be accepted Carried. for 5P (d) An arch culvert 7211 x 4499 fill for W/ - 1- 32 -z6 -4 (Neumiller) will be supplied. Mr. Peters moved that this be accepted. Carried. (e) A letter from the Hon Gordon Taylor advised that the approaches at the Dunphy bridge are now being improv d Mr. Church moved that this be accepted with thanks. Carried (f) A letter from the Bridge Branch re- garding the culvert W/SW- 29- 28 -23 -4 indicated that the installation was satisfactory though the rip - rapping and minor work is still to be done. It was agreed that Mr Lyle Lindsay be asked for a definite statement as to whether or not he wishes to do this riprapping, and it was noted that the holdback of $72 00 had been made in connection with his account A committee of Mr. Ralph Brown, S.C.Schmelke and G. G King gave further information regarding most of the ` above items which had been discussed with Mr. Howard Atkin of the Bridge Branch in Edmonton this past week A letter from the Director of Surveys was read in SURVEY which he st ted that the old survey along the south side N2- 12 -30 -23 of the N2 -1 - 30 -23 -4 could be registered if proper REGISTERED signatures were now affixed, etc Mr Church moved that this Distri t proceed with the registration of the road plan referr d to in this paragraph. Brief discussion followed. Mr Loosmore moved that it be suggested to Mrs Olmstead that they may get a load of oil and have same spread on the road at their expense to keep down the dust if they so wished. Holidays for other employees were discussed briefly and the foremen stated that satizfactory arrangements were being made with those who had requested holidays The crushing of the gravel required for the paving GRAVEL project was then discussed with particular reference to CRUSHING the 111 crush that will be needed Reference was made - PAVING to the Council minutes of March 14th and March 24th when discussion had been held with Linden Contractors re- garding allowance for Winter Works and other related factors It was agreed that the Secretary- Treasurer see Linden Contractors regarding the definite gravel prices if they are now granted the ,lob Maps of the Town of Trochu were then shown to Council TROCHU and these clearly indicated that the street or road from SEWER the Trochu Feed Mill southeasterly is within the Municipal District. It was pointed out that certain sewer materials from the Tovn appear to be flowing into the ditch along this roadsi e and that this should not be allowed, both because of the road hazard and for health reasons It was agreed that a committee of Mr. Campbell, Mr. Paquette & Mr G King discuss this with the Town officials and decide on procedurI V/ FORM 146 -P SPECIAL ES LTD.
