The ineeting that had adjourned from Mar 31/66
was reconvened in the Municipal Office at Three
Hills o Apr. 4/66 commencing at 8 30 A.M.
All embers of Council and the Sec. -Treas were
present, as were also foremen T. Paquette and Allan
Koch.
Mr R W. Brown reported briefly on the tragedy in
his are - a son of Willie Toews had drowned in the
Kneehill Creek and the body had not been located.
Council discussed sending some Municipal employees
to assist in the search. Mr Loosmore moved that 5
or 6 men be sent down to assist today Carried.
The hiring of cooks for the road crews was discussed
at some length It was agreed that Guy Severns be
notified that he can continue this year as cook for
the so th crew and that he can start on or about
April 5th
The opinion was expressed that Mrs Adams, former
cook f r the north crew, is not too able for the work
and th t it might be better to have a male -cook.
Application of Harry Chambers was then considered,
he had formerly cooked for the south crew.
Mr Peters moved that Harry Chambers be hired as cook
for the north crew on a trial basis, that he be
advise that he must cook on all working days including
the no 1pril n meal on Saturdays, and that he start on or
about 15th Carried

Transfer of road employees to other positions was EMPLOYEE
discus ed. Mr Poole moved that Council consider. TRANSFERS

2 Transfer of Don Adams to Patrol in Div 4

of e Cat which Allan MacLean had operated.

Mr Schmelke moved that final dhclsion re the above DON
transf rs be left until April 12th meeting; and that ADAMS

Council was advised that Viola Kraft, daughter of KRAFT
Wm F Kraft, had been in the Provincial Training ACCOUNT
School axd /or Deerhome at Red Deer from May, 1949 to
March, 1 °5S Accouxt-s- paid by this District on her
behalf totalled $1,422:77, Site had become 21 yrz

Mr Schmelke moved that the off -r be accept -ed and the

Mr. Loosmore moved that this meeting adjourn. Carried

A general discussion on safety fellewod with the following
being topics
1 Each crew has a supply of blankets and a stretcher, and spknts
2 All first aid kits are to be checked and filled if some
supplies are missing
✓3. A first aid kit is to be ordered for the motor grader in
division 2
4 Each machine and truck is to be inspected to make sure
they are equipped with a fire extinquisher.
5 Masks are readily available at each grinding machine and
are being used
6 Goggles are also readily available at the welding machines
and are being used
7 It was suggested that safety blocks be built mn the hoists
of the gravel trucks so that when the boxes are lifted for
greasing etc there would be no danger that if a block
was not at hand a workmen would do the greasing etc. without
the safety precaution thus resulting in a serious accident
8 The ventilating system which was designed by the Workmen's
Compensation Board for the Three Hills shop must have some
changes made. The motors on the fans on the north side
of the shop are placed outside and in very cold weather
will not operate, thus should be placed in the attic
10 Emergency phone numbers should be available at shops.
A iscussion regarding extensions of the shops at Carbon and
Three ills followed
It as noted that various prices be obtained for the next
Council meeting as well a prices for insulating the metal shops
at Three Hills, Wimborne and Acme including any extensions which
may be made this year
The secretary was also instructed to get prices for patching
the stucco on the Three Hills main shop and painting the exterior.
It as reported that the floor in the main Carbon shop was
breaki up and should be referred to Council for decision on how
it sho d be fixed
