Hills on Friday, Feb. 11/66 commencing at 9 00 A M Those present were Mr A H Church Councillor Div 1 Mr Cliff Poole 2 Mr R W Brown 3 (Reeve) Mr Dunc Peters 4 Mr Ralph Loosmore 5 Mr S C Schmelke 6 Mr. C. C Campbell 7 Mr Donald Dau Representative of 3 Hills S D Mr G G King Sec -Treas of M D Mr T P rquette, A Koch, and Joe Dobler - foremen The main business of this meeting was to consider bids rec ived for supply of machinery and equipment Mr L G. Howe of Three Hills was present while the AGENTS bids for the trucks and passenger vehicle were opened PRESENT Mr Wm Church of Carbon was present when some of the said bids were opened Bid3 for one new 1 -ton truck cab and •'zassis were 1 -TON opened a5 received from TRUCK Howe and Son Farm Equip. of Three Hills Diede Se vice of Carbon McKee Im lements of Trochu K & F Motors of Trochu Highway Motors of Three Hills Wright M tors of Carbon McFarlan - Goodacre Motors of Red Deer The above were discussed briefly with reference to tire siz s, wheelbase, motors, etc. All the above gave a cash price, and all except Diede Service and K & F Motors gave a price less trade in of 1 -ton International Bid3 for 9 Passenger Vehicle were opened as received from Cash Price With Trade PASSENGER McKee Im lements of Trochu 3556 2806 VEHICLE Wright M tors of Carbon 3650 3300 Howe and Son Farm Equip 3625 2926 60 v All of the above were for International 1200, trade in would be the Int. Travelall Bid3 for four gravel trucks were ther opened as received from McFarlan - Goodacre Motors of Red Deer GRAVEL Howe and Son Farm Equip of Three Hills TRUCKS Wright M tors Ltd of Carbon McKee Implements of Trochu K & F Motors of Trochu Highway Motors of Three Hills All of the above quoted for cash deals and all except K & F Motors quoted price less trade in of four of the M D gravel trucks as listed in the call for bids The bids were then discussed briefly Mr Howe and Mr Wm. Church gave brief additional information regarding their bi s.(Note. Wm Church represented Wright Motors). BUS • LJ The possibility of buying an old school bus and fixing same up for use by the gravel crew was discussed, Mr. Joe PASSENGER Dobler, foreman, said he would much prefer to fix up the VEHICLE present rravelall which needs new steering connections and front eni check up - otherwise quite good - motor 0 K Mr Camp ell moved that Council rule out the possibility of buyin a new 9 Passenger Vehicle in 1966 Carried Council adjourned for dinner from 12 noon to 1 P M The meeting reconvened at 1 P.M. &nd Council thbn went Supply into detail with the bids on the one ton truck BY -LAW Mr Peters moved 1st Reading to By -Law # 493, this being 03 a By-Law tobuy a new F 350 Ford chassis and cab from ion Equip Highway gotors Ltd of Three Hills with the 1963 Inter- 1 -TON national pickup to be traded in, net price difference TRUCK to be $2,060.40 Carried by vote 6 - -1. Mr. Poole moved 2nd Reading to this By -Law Carried 6--1 Mr Loos ore moved that 3rd Reading be given to this f By -Law at this meeting. Carried unan Mr. Schmelke moved 3rd Reading to this By -Law Carried The bids for the 4 gravel trucks with boxes and hoists, less trade in of four used gravel trucks as listed in the call for bids, were discussed in detail. Mr. Poole moved lst Reading to By -Law # 494, this being BY -LAW a By-Law to buy four new F 700 gravel trucks complete 494 with boxes and hoists from Highway Motors Ltd. of Three GRAVEL Hills, with 4 International gravel trucks with boxes TRUCKS and hoists tobe traded in; net price difference $12,682 Less sales tax on truck chassis and cab est at 1,600 Net Price _11, 082. Starting at 1 25 P M the bids as received for two MOTOR new Motor Patrols, with cash prices and cash prices after PATROLS allowance for two trade -ins, were opened and discussed briefly with agents present as noted Company Ferguso Wajax E Waterou Industr Street Constru A they t Agent Present Wayne Scobie John Mason & J Lindstedt Bob Edwards Mel Luepke Bob McDonald Bill White minor details were discussed with the agents and left the Council room Coincil then discussed the bids in general and agreed that thE two machines to be traded in would be the Adams from Dii 2 and the Caterpillar # 12 from the south camp They also agreed that the machines purchased should be with standard transmission and of the larger sizes quoted, that is, in 150 h p or greater range. Mr Gordon Park reported that his committee had obtained information regarding low boy triilers and he recommended that the order be given to McCoy -Renn Mr. Loo ore moved lst Reading toBy -Law # 496, this being a By -Law to purchase a McCoy Renn low boy tilt -deck trailer from that Company at a cash price of $1,693• Carried unan Mr. Poo e moved 2nd Reading to this By -Law Cd unan Mr Pet rs moved 3rd Reading to this By -Law Cd unan.
