discussed Mr Campbell moved that all employees be HOLIDAYS
entitled to time off from noon of Dec 24th to morning
of Dec 28th, and from noon of Dec 31st to morning
of Jan 3rd, except that emergency work be attended to.

Mr Do ler reported that two truck drivers are now TRUCKS,
on holidays, John Campbell and Allan Huxley are driving ETC
in their places Transmission is out of 1 truck - now
at Howes for repairs, consider truck trades and keeping
an older patrol to spread gravel
Mr Allen Koch advised that holidays have been requested
as follows John Esau from Dec 20th to Jan 12th, HOLIDAYS
Karl Gundlach from Dec 20th to Jan 2nd Each would be
available for emergency work. Arrangements were left
with the foreman.
Mr Poole and Mr Koch reported that Allan McLean is McLEAN
using a Municipal bunk house at Carbon shop yar4, is
willing to pay for propane. Mr. Brown moved that Mr.
Poole and Mr Church see him about this Carried

Time sheets for evening work on Nov 15th for some TIME
employees from the south crew showed extra time to RECORDS

made with the County of Red Deer whereby this District

( #21 west 2 mi ) either on a rental basis or an exchange
of work b sls It was agreed that the Sec. -Treas
contact t e County for its opinions and also that the
matter of insurance coverage for liability be studied.
The conm. re the fire truck for the Trochu area gave
a brief report The truck is now at Trochu, it was
driven out from the Factory by two members of the Trochu
Fire Dept., some equipment is still to come from
Edmonton The matter of payments re firemen, etc., for

MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF KNEEHILL #48
11AGE SCALE AND WORKING CONDITIONS FOR ALL PUBLIC IWORKS HOURLY
EMPLOYEES FOR 1966
Clause 1.
Those Public Works employees who are hared on an hourly basis
by the Municipal District of Kneehill #48 shall set up a committee
of 5 members to meet with the Council, or committee of the Council,
to discuss problems that arise from time to time of concern to the
workmen and the Council. The committee of the employees shall be
chosen by them as follows.
1 - chosen by the truck drivers
1 - chosen by North grading crew
1 - chosen by South grading crew
1 - chosen by Motor Grader Operators
of Div °s 1, 2, 3,
1 - chosen by Motor Grader Operators
of Div?s. 4, 5, 6, 7,
The committee so chosen shall serve for the calendar year If a
man retires from the committee another shall be chosen by the group
concerned to complete the unexpired term.
The committee of the Council shall consist of two Council
members chosen by the Council Terms of office and replacement shall
be subject to the same terms as for the employees4 committee.
The Secretary - Treasurer of the Municipal District may attend all
meetings to record a review of the discussion and recommendations,
etc. which are made

The hours of work are not expected to exceed 11 hours in any
day nor 602 hrs. in any week between April lst and Nov 30th,
Between Dec. 1st and March 31st
'truck driving or snowplowing 9 hrs in any day or 492 hrs a week,
other work 8 hrs. in any day or 44 hrs a week The said hours may
only be exceeded in unusual circumstances and the excess hours must
first be authorized by a foreman or councillor All pay is to be at
the regular rates

include servicing the machine

TUCK CREW - No camp is maintained - he shall be deemed to start

At the end of December of each year, the hours worked by the
employees in the categories above shall be totalled and his gross
earnings calculated by using the appropriate hourly rates of pay
Any amounts so earned in excess of the calculations under the monthly
rate shall then be paid. If the amount so earned is less than the
total by the monthly rate no adjustment shall be zuade.

the employee must work, or be available for work, not less than
21 days of that month Under special circumstances Council may
waive this rule in whole or in part Deduction from the monthly pay
shall be $15 00 per day for each day less than the required 21 days.
Wage adjustment on the hourly basis may be made prior to the end of
December if employment ceases or if an extended leave of absence is
,ranted for any reason
Clause 5 ANNUAL HOLIDAYS
Clause 6. PROVISIONS FOR SICK PAY
a Employees are to be given credit at January lst, 1966 for the
number of days for sick- pay which remain at their credit at
the end of 1965
b Credit from January lst, 1966 will be 2 day per month for
sickness with the total credit to build up to a maximum of
50 days
c L medical certificate raust only be supplied upon request if
an employee is off for one or two consecutive days
d If any employee is off for three days or more, then a medical
certificate is compulsory
e No hourly credit is given during sick leave.

Clause 8 . WORK 11EN v S C0MPENSATI0N
a Each employee shall be .;aid regular wages for a period not
to exceed two weeks if he suffers an injury while at work under
which he qualifies for Workmen2s Compensation benefits. Any payment
from the Workmen's Compensation Board in respect to the wages during
that period will be claimed by the 1,4unicipal District
b t-fter the first two week , the employee will be entitled to
payment direct from the r.Iorkmen7s Compensation of that portion of
his wages which it will pay but will not receive further wage payment
from the Municipal District until he returns to work
C. No hourly credit is given during time off due to injury
Clause 9 PENSION PLAN
`dotal contributions to the Canada Pension Plan and an integrated
additional Pension will be approximately 5% by the employee and an
equal amount by the Municipal District. The Canada Pension Plan
is compulsory The integrated additional pension will be compulsory
for any new employees hired, effective after 6 months employment,
but it remains optional for employees hired previous to December 31st,
196$ Details are available upon request.
Clause 10 MEDICAL SERVICES
Medical Services Incorporated coverage is compulsory, with the
costs shared on a 50 - 50 basis by the employer and employee

Each employee shall generally have every Saturday afternoon off
workiowever work may be required on the Saturday afternoon in an
emergency or where notice is given to the employee not later than
quitting time of the Thursday previous
T10 work shall be required on any Sunday or legal holiday
except for emergency or snowplowing.
Regular pay rates apply if any employee is required by an
emergency or otherwise to word, on any holiday
Any employee shall have the right to request a transfer to other
employment with the Municipal District and this shall be given fair
consideration.
Any employee shall be expected to do any reasonable work to the
best of his ability with his rate of pay to stay in his present
category unless he be actually put in a new category by the Council
The committee of the employees and of the Council shall meet
not less than once every three months Dates and time of meetings
shall be mutually agreed upon Either comm.'-ttee has the right to
request a meeting for special cause
Any employee covered by this Agreement and wishing to leave the
employ of the Municipal District shall give not less than one weeks
notice The Municipal District shall give not less than one week's
notice to any employee who is being, dismissed from employment
Exception to the notice from either party may be allowed by mutual
consent
This Agreement, upon acceptance by both parties, shall be con-
sidered in effect as from January 1st, 1966 to December 31st, 1966
It will further continue beyond that date unless a change is requested
by either party, the request shall be considered at a meeting of
