Mr, Gordon Park, Field Supervisor >let with Council and was Gordon present while the following items were reported on and dealt Park with REPORT 1 Mr lunc Peters and he had been to Calgary and compared prices and construction of portable weigh scales They had then arranged for purchase of a portable weigh scale from WEIGH United Hac ine Distributors Ltd at a net price of $802 9,5 �, SCALES Mr, Church moved that Council approve of this purchase and that the $802 21 be now authorized paid to United Machine Distributors AND Ltd Carried 2 Rent 1 rates to be charged for the use of the weigh scale Mr Peters moved that the following rates be adopted- Over 20 miles from Three '-sills - $S 00 per day RENTAL From 10 to 20 miles from Three Hills - $7 50 per day RATES Under 10 miles from Three Hills $10 00 per day /If a group of farmers in one area arrange to use the scale on the same day; then only the one rental rate is charged There is no charge for the use of the scale by 4H clubs The one who tales the scale out is held responsible for the rental fees and a y undue damages Motion darried 3 Mr Tordon Park reported on his recommendations for the report regarding Praira.e Farm .ssistance and the estimated P F A A ;Melds by Townships together with a list of those sections REPORT where the field of wheat might be under 8 bushels per acre A separate list of these is attached Mr Campbell moved that Council accept the report and that the application for P F it be filed a cordingl;T Carried Q. He pointed out that this would be the ceiling price and th t this District would only pay the actual costs of the study Their estimates also include Councillors fees,etc. wh ch would be required for them to attend meetings of a Study g oup, and in this way,the Provincial Department of Highways would be paying 1/2 of these costs It was also pointed out that in a study group, each area is to hire their own engineers and then the onus is put on the Engineers firm to work toge her if, within a study group, more than one of ConsultinD, Engineers is hired Mr Venables was advised that their p oposal would receive consideration of Council and that the would be advised at a later date Mr Pe ers moved that Council table the proposal of Underwood, Lellen & Associates Ltd regarding the Road Study until after a meeting is held with the other areas in the proposed study group, namely the County of Mountain View and the County of Red Deer Motion carried.
