D of Three Hills Mr D C Jau, representative of the Three Hills School vision, was ot present at this meeting Mr G G King, Secretary - Treasurer, was present at the meeting until 00 P M and recorded up to then Mr. H J Sec -Treas Hanson, Assist Ent Secretary - Treasurer, recorded the minutes for the balancE of the meeting in the absence of the Sec -Treas Mr Loosm re moved that the minutes of the meeting of May 10th, 25th and June 1st, 1965, be approved as per copy mailed to each Councillor Carried. The monthly Statement for the month ending May 31/65, was then prese ted and discussed as per copy with these MONTHLY minutes This showed a net balance at the end of the month STATEMENT of $203,948 22 Mr. Poole moved approval of the monthly statement Carried. Mr Arnol Boese and Doug Hazelton of Linden Contractors met with Counc 1 Mr G G King read his report of testing done for grave on the morning of June 7th in the vicinity LOWEN of Dunphy and om LowenQs The gravel in the bed of the GRAVEL Kneehill Creek near Dunphy was fairly good though somewhat ETC sandy, but wou d have to be taken out with a dragline and stockpiled wit trucks to dry before it could be crushed No gravel had Deen found in Pt of SE- 23- 29 -21 -4, south - easterly from the road and adjacent to the creek Testing northwesterly rom the road in that same quarter and in the vicinity of To LowenQs buildings shorted good gravel along the overflow c annel with about 51 of cover and 5? to 61 of excellent dry ravel Mr Arnold Boese and G King added a little to t information in the report and this was discussed Mr Peters moved that we get a lease from Tom Lowen for gravel removal from the Pt of the SE- 23- 29 -21 -4 as per the re ort and that Council authorize the stripping with our machinery and crushing of gravel by Linden Contractors NMI Carried It was s ggested that there might be a gravel location in Sec 16 -29- 1 -4 No testing had been done in that area as the inform tion was not available yesterday Mr Cliff Poole had brought in a sample of gravel from SNELL a location in Russell Snell's land in NE- 21- 30 -23 -4 Some GRAVEL �Tork with the cat tractor to remove rocks and overburden would be necessary and further testing before a definite decision could be made regarding the amount of gravel available After considerable discussion, it was agreed that this be left until later in the season Mr Campbell reported that he had contacted Victor Moran and Victor had agreed to accept $150 for damages MORAN GRAVEL if gravel is taken from the S2- NW- 26- 34 -25 -4 The hole i' AGREEMENT would have to be filled in and payment for gravel made at 10¢ per cu.yd Mr Schmelke moved that this be approved Carried See Page 2 FORM 149- SPECIAL MUNICIPAL PLIES LTD. Carried Council was advised that the Provincial Department of Highways had obtained approximately 600 cu yds of crushed gravel from our stockpile in NE- 16- 32 -26 -4 with same being placed on Hwy #27 Mr Peters moved that the Department of Highways be charged $1 00 per cu.yd for any gravel so taken.
