RUAD `. TOUR APRIL 17/65 -- BRIEF REPORT
L. S.27 & 28- 28 -23 -4 - between two Baptist cemeteries -
cl.ean out ditches and trim the grade
S -27 - fairly big coulee - Govt culvert to be
installed, will need right of entry and extra land
at the tops of the hills; fence N /NIV -22 much too
close (81 to 91) at west end
2 West 29- 28 -23 -4 (vern Ohlhauser) t_.ovt culvert to be
installed, might need borrow pit Schell land, should
mark ends of wooden bridge in meantime - dangerous
3 Sloughs in N1V- 5- 29 -23 -4 (C Poole) perhaps a dugout could
be made under ARDA or other action taken to reclaim land
4 S- 2- 29 -24 -4 - possibility of Uovt culverts, Slight diversion
to north would give good road and much less work than
on road allowance, Rainer K to het further information
for Bridge Branch Phis is fairly large ,lob
5. W- 32- 28 -24 -4 Macdonald needs new grade for at leadt 1 mile,
might be well to consider south mile also (W -29) - not
passable, would need fence taken out along west side
for new grade Bachelor, but lives in bldgs set in
app 4 mi east of this proposed road
If time permits, might also consider grading W -21 (to south)
6. 15/16- 28 -24 -4 Sterns north of # 9 raise grade for app a mi
as it floods at times, should contact Dist Eng re
drainage at Highway intersection
7. In NE- 30- 29 -24 -4 Ralston - perhaps make a small ditch with
patrol to keep water from feed lot
Also discussed addition proposed to his house, now
app. 107 ft from centre of road - wants to extend
house 24t toward road. May write for permission
6. 5- 27-29 -23 -4 L Coates - land for widening dealt for on
both sides, should widen and trim grade to complete
the connection from # 26 east to Carbon cemetery
8a W-29 -29 -23 V. Luft - clean weed ditch again
9 Carbon - Sharples road - still has a number of bad corners,
consider improvement this year near Vargas from bridge
to railway in 13- 29 -23 -4
10 Sharples steel bridge in 17- 29 -22 -4 Bridge Insp. has seen
the damage, will be sending us a report.
11. 5- 25- 29 -22 -4 and S- 30- 29 -21 -4 Pope Lease road - clean ditches
and trim the grade
14 Consider opening 5- 29- 29 -?1 -4 and east to River IF iovt.agrees
to proposal of new road down River Hill, one fairly big
coulee might need Govt culvert, from SU
corner of 5E -27 angle H E toward river, this project
would mean to 3 mx additional road but would be a
shorter c onnec•tion if river 'Mat paved
Existing road would also be needed
l; tY %StV- 20- 29 -21 -4 (S. of ( eo Walkers) cattle ,ate on road
allowance put in by some Oil Co - high and dangerous,
ties 74 to 811 apart In clear, no permission of Council
Perhaps put in at request of C. C,olberg
14 W1NW- 30- 8&KJUx4- 29 -22 -4 (A Larson) Put culvert in coulee
and regrade app mi , then -ravel
W- 31- 29 -22 -4 patch work only, clean west ditch near
north end, fix north interse( t_ion for drainage
15 tV/S!V- 20- 30 -22 -4 N of IN1 Anderson, culvert was blocked, opened
16 o- 29- 30 -22 -4 G Johnson, needs ditches (.leaned, etc.
17 Forced road S/SI- 32- 30 -22 -4 - 0 K as is
18 U 27 & 34- 30 -23 -4 C, I'larti.n corner north to Corr line
;deeds regrading; to ,loin with ;: .bnell new bridge
19 U- 22- 30 -23 -4 R Snell - complete grading for new road at bridge.
20 !V-18 & 19- 28 -21 -4 (Pearson south - (,roenveld) riot inspected
this year but mentioned, fairly big grading job,
diversion to be changed or possibly straightened
